Something I find to be interesting about recent Malzahar's nerfs

Ever since his rework, Malzahar never got under a 50% winrate. It is only when they nerfed his passive that he actually got a 49% winrate. While they nerfed his passive before, they just nerfed the cooldown and not the duration after Malzahar is hit with something. Now they nerfed it, on top of making its cooldown even higher than before. And this made his winrate finally go under 50%, which has never happened since he has been reworked.

At the top lane he still has a 50% winrate according to champion.gg. Which is still lower than what he used to have.

This makes me think of how much of Malzahar's strength is tied to his passive. Another nerf may make him go down to Azir/Zed/Vladimir levels of winrate, while a buff could make him go up to Zilean/Sona/Ashe levels of winrate.

TBH, Malz's passive should have been moved to Nocturne in place of his W, granting attackspeed when it drops.

Would have been healthier, more thematic, and actually match what the kit is trying to accomplish. Not to mention begin to bring Nocturne up to date with the direction of the game.

On Malz...nobody even knows why its there. It doesn't push his strengths. It isn't very thematic. It only builds frustration when facing a ranged opponent...especially one with the kit he has.

Should have changed his title to ** Kalista: Mage edition. **

Under 49% = balanced to riot

Not to mention his win rate pre-rework was just above 50% for a long time.

all his power got put into his passive and W making his other abilities feel terrible to use.
