Riot will you consider restricting ranked players based on ping?

I'm sure this has come up from time to time. I also concede that all of or possibly a fair majority of players, at least in NA, experience the dreaded random ping spikes issue, I know I certainly have.

What about a ping check on players queuing for ranked. If it fails at the queue part grey out the queue until it's at a level that You determine is playable.

Check it again once in champ select with the same idea, if it's beyond the level you set kick the player (w/o penalty).

To guard against people abusing it for dodge then at some arbitrary number of times kicked for high ping while in champ select you hit them with a leave buster and then follow the typical process after.

Obviously this is just an idea, I don't know what's feasible and how easily it could be implemented, but It sure would be appreciated.

Nothing s worse then getting into a ranked game where a player begins to show ping in the 200 to 600 range. Rarely does it get fixed in time for the match.

I'd say if such a system were put in place let it only apply to ranked queues.

Edit: If a player makes it into game and then their ping spikes (before 3 minutes) and didn't return to acceptable limit by the time minions spawn then allow the remake option.

If the ping happens after that then I think at that point you offer no concession. However with something in place like I described I doubt that would be an issue as you will have weeded out most people by that time.

The issue with this is ping is constantly fluctuating. Someone may have constant 34 ping but every few minutes it may spike to 800 for a couple seconds then come back. The number itself is virtually useless - and some players can play better at a higher ping simply because it’s what they’re used to. Riot’s goal is to make League open to everyone possible - hence why the bare minimum graphics are, quite frankly, kinda poop - so that low end machines can run it.

Any system like this would have the potential to cause well-meaning players who are actually 99% of the time okay even with higher ping to not be able to play the game. If you start restricting players based on some arbitrary limit, someone won’t fit the mold. Maybe someone has constant 500 ping but is able to play around that because they have good reaction time and play safe in lane.

Plus, LeaverBuster already punishes people who play games and are afk/leave, or even if they just afk in game for a while, even if they don’t disconnect completely.
