to counter his ult and stop him from completely walking over me by draining health and resistances.
but this isnt an option anymore, so what now?
i feel like building anything defensive would just completely fuck over my team.

ok, this is teamfights. and its really assuming you have a specific adc on your team.
and the enemy has an adc too. it can take longer to take down trundle than it takes for them to blow up our team with that ult.
its actually a problem i had at all stages of the game. what the hell do i do? he heals up extremely fast after every trade by healing up on a minion wave and his frozen ground, passive and lifesteal. so damage doesnt stick.
i cant build defenses against him since im just giving him more ammunition. this is a problem that gets worse in teamfights, as im required to build defense as a bruiser to act in a fight. but if i do im also making him tanky which means he has an easier time to dive into our team.
playing against trundle feels like it locks you out of any sort of defensive itemization and like im making myself a liability to my team if i get any form of defense anyways.

Abyssphere1 votesDepends what stage of the game you're talking about. If you mean laning phase then it's all about disengaging after he ults and re-engaging after, no? But he doesn't feel particularly weak without ult given how strong he is right now so good luck with that.
I imagine Garen has no tools at all to deal with Trundle.

it steals 20% to 35% of your max health over a certain duration.
it also steals 40% of your resistances. half of it instantly, and the other half over the course of the drain. its also direct target, so no possibility to dodge.
and his q gives him 20 to 40 attack damage, steals half of it from his opponent and is on a 3 second cooldown. i can deal with this i guess. it does make hima bitch to trade with, but its not horrible.
but you can see my dilemma. build health and armor against him, and hes just going to turn it against you or your own team.
i mean the only choice really would just be to stack up straight damage it seems, but you cant really afford that on most bruisers, considering youll have to fight 5v5 or skirmishes at some point.

i understand that just being able to remove the ult with a push of a button wasnt fair to trundle. but the complete inability to deal with it isnt fair either.
