You -kinda- did something cool, Riot... but missed the mark.

Having designated item slots as part of our item sets is really neat and helpful -- except that the item set system as a whole sucks horribly and nobody wants to use it, because everyone just installs Blitz or copies whatever the latest and greatest is off of Champion.gg/OP.GG anyway. (Dota has an in-game browser for these sorts of things, but I digress)

Not to mention creating them is a pain, maintaining them is a pain, and generally speaking many of them end up being nearly the same item set anyway (item diversity!)

but you were onto something here, Rito.... lets revisit the whole "designated item slot" thing, and put it into preferences or something. Something more accessible, less clunky, and more global.

I ALWAYS want my potion to hit my 1 key. I ALWAYS want my wards on my 2 key. I ALWAYS want my major active item on my 3 key. (Zhonyas, Gunblade, Locket, etc.) I ALWAYS want my secondary active item on my 5 key. (Knight's Vow, Zeke's Convergence, etc.)

I should be able to set this up in my preferences, or the game should just be smart enough to learn over time where I put my items.

Rito plz?

When you buy a 600g stopwatch and use it in fountain trying to move it to the slot you want it on

Yeah I would like something like that, always pissing me off to change positions of the items.

That already exists on the base client.

everyone? I don't.

I tend to just use it for when I play against someone that has a cool build. I copy it to a clipboard in the end game screen and adjust it for later. Or if I try out a new build on my champ and it works I copy it and label it as "X champ vs Y champ Z lane"

I would be very surprised if you’re not a gross minority in this.

possibly, but you can't ignore outliers. that's how you end up with a flawed argument and inaccurate statistics. You have to account for them by including them and then excluding them and averaging the difference.

Yeah... congrats on your 101 stats class.

You were the one who used the word everyone instead of most.

My dude... in common language, people use the word "everyone" to describe a large number of people. A majority. A huge but undetermined number of people.

If we're going to sit here and nitpick exact meanings vs. colloquial meanings, I have to ask -- is it worth the trouble?

If I sat here and said "Everyone likes doritos"

Are you going to sit here and say "Nah, there's that one person in bumfuck nowhere, rhode island who doesn't like doritos, your information is incorrect."

And if we're going to nitpick language, you said "You can't ignore outliers"

I can, in fact. It is absolutely possible for me to do so. That is an ability I have.

I --SHOULDN'T-- but I absolutely can.

Get over yourself.

To be completely honest, I understand your frustrations and it makes sense to want that but, if you set as preference. There's going to be items that get recognized and put into the slot you don't want, guaranteed and then you'll just end up having to move it again. Having a "learning" would be very hard to add and is very inconsequential to the game just for it to move your zhonyas from 2 to 3. Not to mention the people who don't use that. Or people such as myself who like the inventory to vary depending on the champion or role in playing. It seems like a really quirky and hard to add (properly) feature for something so small. It takes less than 5 seconds to move it all and get it just right.

Already exist. Thread closed

It doesn't though. It exists through the clunky, awkward item set system that virtually nobody uses, and I'm sure about 30-40% of the current player base doesn't even know exists.

Thread re-opened.

Or just make a better website where we can login to the website to do these things, thus allowing us to work on runes/item sets while on a bus or a train travelling.

The website has needed an update forever.
