Why doesn't anyone Declare their champion?

It's one of the best and least used features of champ select >.<

Because if I plan on playing something like Teemo, or Gnar ADC, or GP ADC, or Poppy support, or anything weird or "non-meta," people ban it.

Well... They should? Playing teemo in the first place is a instant dodge because I know they are gonna feed are troll. Let alone adc

Flaherty1 votes

Out of all the things he mentioned you're going to bitch about the teemo? Really?

Niyumi1 votes

If you ask me, none of it is complaint worthy. They all work just as well as any meta pick.

Teemo isn't an ADC. He's a top or a jungler.

And, I wouldn't have rank 7 on Teemo if I trolled. Gotta get 5 S ranks for it. :P

I also like him mid. I have 2 mastery 6 tokens on him but not enough blue essence

EXACTLY!!! I never hover my champ, because this literally always happens.

I think the better solution is still to hover your champ and then report the person who banned for lack of communication at the end of the game.

Exactly. I win tons of games with my duo partner and our horrible cheese lanes but people just can't handle progress these days.

usually i wait to see what the enemy team picks first

I too would like to know if no one plans to play any champions with CC and have to pick a CC Tank.

Omg Bananajamana omg <3

Anyways, the reason I personally don't declare my champion is because of how frequently people will then ban that champion or take them before me just to spite me for whatever reason. Idk, I just love Karma too much to take the risk :p

cause when u do and u get a dodge and then insta reque and not have the same team then they knnow what u want to play and it gets banned

This. Even more so now with so many people dodging thanks to the autofill

I always put the champ I intend to play in, but sometimes I'll change it depending on the enemy team comp and/or what my ADC picks.

SarcasticShepard2 votes

because its laggy as hell and only drops me in with two seconds to pick.

BigBellBrute2 votes

Why don't I declare my champ?

BECAUSE I WANT TO PLAY TEEMO!!!!! (rimshot)

A Basic Island2 votes

so my team doesnt ban my champion

so the enemy team doesn't see who i intended to go when the screen pops

Toru Itai2 votes

people sometimes ban other peoples declared champs because "noob champ"/"troll"/ETC

Sukishoo1 votes

Cause there are a lot of trolls out there who like to ban anything, and thus players stopped using it a lot after it came out.

hunterspec1 votes

because the trolls? duh because if some asshole bans my champ I have to feed.

Z3bra1 votes

Also if somebody ends up dodging the queue, the enemy team could do a target ban (obviously pending ELOs).

Koala Calamity1 votes

I hover teemo support so that I can identify if there's going to be a tilted %%%%bag who will flood the chat with rage. Dodging is less elo lost than the game.

Flaherty3 votes

Hovering over troll picks makes most people tilted, so maybe you're doing more harm than good with that method.

Escheton1 votes

Because my pick depends on both enemy picks and how my team is looking in ad/ap/tankage.

Too many people declaring and sticking to it regardless of pick order is how you get full ad teams.

Athenes Lulu1 votes

People either ban out pick intents, or prefer waiting for enemy to pick first.

Tenth Leper1 votes

people will always ban it. or pick something you don't want them to pick that "goes with it"

DemainaNyx1 votes

I don't because normally I'm support and need to fill in whatever position my team isn't fulling. No tank, guess I'll play Braum/Naut/Thresh. All AD team, support Brand it is.

ValyrianBlade1 votes

I always declare if I'm mid because I only really play Ahri. I want to make sure my team doesn't ban it on me.

I almost never declare if I'm top lane until I know what I'm going to play. Which basically means I'll only declare before my pick if the enemy top laner picks. Sometimes I would hover my options (try to subtly tell the team I may go Quinn so that 3 adc strategy so far really sucks for me) but that never seemed to work. It seems most players don't care about team comp - they want to play what they want to play. It's unfortunate, because I get counterpicked top lane often. When I do get the chance to counterpick I'd like to use it...

Melledoneus1 votes

Because if I call Shen they'll automatically assume Shen top, even though Shen top is garbage tier right now until he gets those buffs.

Jeddy0171 votes

Sometimes, I don't know what I'm going to play up until it's my turn to pick. I do use pick intent, but mostly just to dick around. If I am serious about pick intent, I just use it to hover champs I'm considering.

Pandemic Punch1 votes

I don't ever go into a game knowing what I am going to play.

o Recovery o1 votes

Because I get trolls who see me playing something, usually perfectly meta and they ban it with the intention of irritating me.
