Man, how's that diversity going?

Meanwhile any other support becomes a top pick in 15 minutes of fame, well that's just inexcusable, HOW DARE YOU BE BETTER THEN THRESH, PUNISHMENT IS NERFS

Oh yeah man you caught me. Gotta show off my impressive 2 ranked Thresh games across 3 seasons

found the thresh apologist

Look, there is a reason why he is always top popularity, and it's not because he is just fun His kit is overloaded with shit it just should not have, damage, scaling, cc, utility that is amazing, peel potential, base stats and he is ranged Obvious trope of CertainlyT champs, they almost always have a overloaded kit

LegacyDAP1 votes

Sorry, but Thresh is not balanced, and never will be unless they change his kit.

Nowadays support diversity is higher than ever. Morgana, Thresh, Kench,Leona, Soraka, Bard

LegacyDAP1 votes

Alistar, Nautilus, Janna, and the Crank

Zair Umbras1 votes

Well, that's because you can only have one Thresh.

Maszii1 votes

Atm he's not so your point is invalid

Zair Umbras1 votes

Thresh has an average of 37% pick rate across the world. LeagueOfGraphs and Champion.GG. The next one up is Braum and Blitz at 16%, Morg at 15%, Janna at 14%, Leo at 13%, etc. He has over double the next one up.

Maszii1 votes

So? Just because people tend to pick him cus they wannabee BunnyFuFu's/Madlifes etc. Doesnt mean he is the top pick. If you say most picked sure..

Zair Umbras1 votes

The Champion.GG, unlike LoLKing, only shows Platinum RANKED game pick rate. It's not just random overall stats. League of Graphs has him at 37% for Gold+, for Diamond+ across the world, Thresh is at 43.7%. That's not a bunch of Madlife and BunnyFuFu wannabes. That's Diamond+ players, which only make up about 5-10% of League's ranked community have a huuuuuuuge pick rate for Thresh.

Maszii1 votes

Still wannabee though. And yes they go play tresh cus its their comfert, because before kench/braum came out he was the best supp

Zair Umbras1 votes

So... you're going to tell me... the 2.15% that Diamond makes up of our community plus the .04% from Master and .02% Challenger makes up for a total of 2.21% of the Ranked community, not even just the League community, of the ones who play ranked and have been placed... That this 2.21% are all Madelife Wannabes? I mean, you've got to be completely and utterly delusional.

Thresh has a huge pick rate in higher play because he's got so much more utility in his kit compared to others. It's not a bunch of pro wannabes... it's his kit being so damn overloaded. Q is the only ability that doesn't have dual usage. His W is used to bring allies to him to save them or help initiate AND if he's behind, he can actually use it to collect souls from a distance. His E passively affects his AA's, enhancing them for a LOT of damage while the active does a decent amount while also pulling enemies OR pushing them. His R is a slow that acts practically as a Veigar E since people don't want to hit the walls, but they sure as heck can't stay inside.

Any suggestions? Complaining about a problem and not presenting solutions is just whining.

RedCyclone3 votes

MS nerfs Remove the on hit damage portion Make it so souls don't have a higher chance of appearing if Thresh didn't collect enough, if he is behind from zoning ect. he deserves to STAY behind

Deep Terror Nami1 votes

I don't see that making him less relevant. As long as his Lantern both saves allies from a distance and brings them in for a gank, his Flay can interrupt channeling and dashes, his hook serves as both a stun and mobility (even for his ally when combined with lantern), and his Ult provides reasonable disengage through slowing, Thresh will be the same Thresh.

In other words, I think you need to gut a mechanic or two from his kit before anything changes. Not that I think that it's necessary. He's a high skill floor champion after all.

RedCyclone1 votes

Counterplay to lantern as well, would be great, how hard is it to give it a health bar and make it destroy-able?

Decrit1 votes

Honestly, so what?

He does not generate power creep, nor he obscures every other support pick, nor he did not receive any nerf since he was released.

Simply put, he is a well-done powerful champion. Probably he is too much a jack of all trades but he is not overbearing and leaves a lot of form of tactical and strategical counterplay. Since he is powerful he can bring value to the team, so he is picked consistently.

Probably he is among one of the best support champions ever designed for this reason, paired to Braum in my opinion. He is not perfect however and could need some touches in the future, but nothing terrible.

SwapShadows1 votes

so a sona main that plays a champion that is almost braindead trying to complain about a high skillcap champion.... hmmm

also are you living in the stone age? thresh isn't nowhere near the top of the support list anymore.

Beddlam1 votes

Alistar Braum Janna Morgana TahmKench Thresh is fine. Many supports, especially older ones, need buffs; but it's not like Thresh is the only support champion or even the best one.
