i'm still not convinced about new morde being healthy, fun, interactive, less toxic, et cetera

morde's new kit is a horrible quasi-healthy kit which ends up being such a massively toxic and harder to balance kit as a result.

to put it simply, his kit is terrible because it has to be strong in a duo lane to help morde serve his new purpose of squashing his lane. if he can't squash his lane, then he is utterly useless.

when morde gets inevitably nerfed to where he doesn't automatically win lane, even with a leona support, will spell the point where morde truly becomes kassadin tier. whenever someone picks kassadin in ranked, I know that they want to lose. and such will be the fate of morde.

this new amalgamation of incoherent build path, dependency on allies, win-more mechanics, situational kit, nuked solo laning, more polarizing kit, as well as just the collective spit in the face towards the old morde mains is just a bad pill to swallow.

Riot is not going to make solo morde viable. if he could self-cast W and still retain the heal, he would be unstoppable as a farming machine toplane, which is fucking hilarious to me, considering that while old morde could farm pretty well and fight melees relatively well, melees still had options against him, and could easily fight him, or just farm under turret, like most toplaners could do anyway. and if morde kept his lane pushed all the time, he was jungler gank bait.

now, if a solo morde that had the W heal available to him at all times was allowed to exist, toplane would become a veritable hell for any melee laning against him, and a joke for any team smart enough to take ranged shit like quinn top. midlane morde would still be shit though, even if the healing from W was brought back

old morde was just more straight forward. his Q did damage, W was a situational movespeed buff that might save morde every now and then, E was pure damage for waveclear, ult was damage. as tradeoffs for the damage he dealt, morde had no CC or mobility, and if he mindlessly pushed waves constantly, he was opened up for ganks. clear strengths, clear weaknesses, no situational damage, and his kit rewarded good positioning over just mechanics

and that was toxic? how is a simple kit that rewarded positioning and decision making rather than actions per minute inherently toxic? and making morde even better against melee and worse against kiting the way to go? and why was it fair to absolutely nuke his solo lane mindset and playstyle?

tldr: morde's old kit that had applications in a lot of scenarios but wasn't outright overbearing was reworked into a more polarizing monster that is essentially a noobstomper. I guess that 51% winrate pre-rework with low pickrate was just so menacing and toxic, huh?

At least Mordekaiser will be able to lane with Kassadin, and each will be able to buy fully stacked tears when he is dumpstered and will no longer be any challenge for Vayne.

I feel the same way about Fiora.

I feel the same way about Fiora.

fiora is also crazy powerful, but I think it would be extremely hard to make true damage bad
