if you intentionally tilt them (ping spam during mistakes or even just a bad outcome, unhelpful needling chat, and so on) you are being an overall detriment to the team.

"but they're OBVIOUSLY BOOSTED!" great. whatever. let it go.

I've been behind and unloved by my jungler multiple times. I chill and try to get back into the game as best as my champion allows when behind. treating players like shit does no good. think of your lowest point in league, where you were behind by a large degree, perhaps due to your own mistake. think how it would have felt if someone really tried to hammer how shit you were that game. think if you got berated to the point where you just didn't want to play the game one minute longer.

now think about that before you antagonize a teammate, even if you think they're boosted bronze 5 trash. tell it to yourself, or even shout it out loud. but don't type it (or ping spam it), because you could just end up tilting yourself or your teammates even more.

you'll probably forget about the game within hours anyway.

Seriously. I don't even know what goes on inside their minds to say what they do. I've legitimately had someone harass us all game, calling ff votes EVERY SINGLE time it was up, saying his team was trash in all chat. And then...when we FINALLY won. What does he say in the lobby?

"You can thank me for carrying your heavy asses"

Just. Beautiful. It's probably worth noting we barely noticed him do anything but steal kills from us all game.

Agreed. I never understood the point of tilting your team when you want to rank up. It's so counterproductive because all it will do is lead to a loss.

Not sure what other team games you play guys but what matters is how people play the game, not this delicate flower bullshit where nobody can say anything about anyone elses actions. Sure say it and move on, don't beat a dead fish, but those who say nothing and are silent are not helping solve the problem or bring the issue to peoples attention so it can be solved... like any good team mate should do on any team game... Aside of league of legends cuz riot has waged war on team communication for some reason.

The thing is, though, that most flamers give super helpful advice like "stop feeding" or "stop being so bad" (not even exaggerating, heard this one before). The vast majority of flamers also don't help solve the problem, and they only bring things up to people's attention that they are obviously already aware of. And that's the sort of thing that doesn't make people play better, it makes them play worse.

This often cited positive effect of flamers, and how they are "helping" their team? I've never seen it happen in a single game. And it's pretty obvious why: They have no authority. From all the arguments I've heard from flamers as to why they yell at their teammates, it's painfully obvious that a lot of them simply cannot accept the simple fact that they don't have the right, position or status to tell other people what to do.

If your boss yells at you, you kind of have to listen to what he has to say. If your mother yells at you, you will still consider her advice. But if the equivalent of a total stranger starts yelling at you because of something you were already aware of, without actually giving you advice on how to avoid it in the future... you are simply going to ignore it.

Well "you're trash and should kys" isnt bringing attention to any fixable problem- thats just flame. I dont see how anyone would want someone to say that to them "for improvement".

i have had multiple games where i don't mince my words and am not flowery. i tell my teammates to remove their heads from their asses and start thinking instead of just throwing their champions at the enemies

instead of "you're a fucking idiot" try "stop playing like that. it isn't productive."

it isnt just black and white like that though, its not like the only two options are to either smile and tell them theyre doing great while they play full crit attack speed ornn jungle (had that happen in a ranked game a couple weeks ago) or treat them like utter garbage and tell them to kill themselves. its not hard to politely tell someone "hey pls dont overextend" or "would you mind warding your tri when youre able since their jungle keeps ganking there". its actually incredibly, unbelievably easy to be a decent human being.

Why not both? Let's say we have a good flamer that carries all by himself. Okay, good you won. Now next game you have a good flamer, but he tilts the shit out of 2 or 3 teammates that aren't you and they stop trying. Okay, you lost. Let's say you have a shit positive player that is so shit that you lose the game because you can't carry him. Okay, you lost. Let's say you have a shit positive player that was meh. He listened when you politely told him what to build and used his ult when you pinged him to after suggesting it. You win because you were good enough to capitalize on something like a Malphite ult even though he was 1/7 in lane.

Chances are you will not have a good flamer that carries all by himself. Chances are you will not have a shit positive player that is so shit that he singlehandedly loses the game for you while trying to win.

If you combine those two and have a good, positive player that carries with the help of his shit teammates, you will capitalize on every possible strength while mitigating the weaknesses. If you combine those two and have a shit flamer you will lose because he will be trying to lose to spite you because he's not able to just accept that he needs to do what he can to win.

You can carry a positive teammate that isn't as good as you are more easily than you can a negative player that is good that tilted 2 of your teammates into quitting. And chances are that a good flamer, unless he's smurfing, is not THAT good. At most I see them break even or they just got an easy lane. When they group against someone just as fed as they are they get rekt and blame the feeders.

besides, i have never had a problem with people flaming me. idk why every1 here seems to be such a sensitive wuss about it. As if words from a random person that does not know u, that you will never see again in your games, really has an impact on you. Maybe you have a problem.

Not even the problem. Problem is being paired with players that are just so far below your own skill level.

Just had a Yi jungle that ended up 15/0 around 20 minutes. We lost because he recalled after every single rank. Didn't once go for dragon or towers. By the time we finally took one, they had 3 towers.

Each lane had a horrid matchup.

I made a topic about this a long time ago, flaming is definitely due to bad matchmaking to a certain degree. Not all flaming is excusable, but just saying it makes things worse. Most of the time people think someone is intentionally feeding is because they're matched against people way better than them.

That's the problem. Why are people matched against players far beyond their own levels? I see diamond players. I see Plats. I see low silvers. I see high golds, low golds, etc etc. Why the fuck is it so different every goddamn game? Why can't I be paired with straight G5s like myself?

I can understand everyone has bad games, but at least bad games recover from mistakes. These other players don't even understand the mistakes they made. Its terrible.

Yeah I've made several topics before about 'Why is a gold/plat player getting matched against unranked players, and 99% of the replies are 'It doesn't happen you're noob', pretty funny but also terrible for new players. Besides you can usually tell if someone is new vs just having a bad game.

I was teaching a new player for a while (but did not duo with him, just taught him things in bot games like item builds and cs'ing), I looked at his pvp games going scores like 0/15/3 in many games in a row, and of course from an outside viewer it just looks like a feeder, but if you look back in his matches his first 15-20 PVP games were with silver, golds, and sometimes plat. He can't be expected to contribute anything to that type of game really if the matchmaking is that busted. The sad thing is there were other unranked people in there too, why the hell is a plat or even gold in there, should never happen even in Normals. Whenever a gold or plat appears in those games their team automatically wrecks and the unranked team usually has zero chance.

Even when I provide people evidence that new players are getting matched against golds, they'll say some bs like 'A new player is not that far off from gold' that is complete bs. Or they'll try to accuse me of smurfing, they don't want to admit something so ridiculous as this matchmaking is actually happening. Riot's done nearly everything else perfectly but their matchmaking is terrible.

I mean technically, even if the game was perfectly balanced so every single thing in the game had a 50% winrate it would still come down to who has the best botlane simply because that lane has 2/5 people. Bot influences 40% of the game, while all the other lanes only influence 20% each.

I would rather have teammates that are equal in skill that aren't toxic. However, riot won't punish bad sportsmanship or make a reasonable matchmaking system. Things will never change, just have to mute all and deal

I totally agree with you, but we can not always control our anger especially when the ranked system is so damn bad. When you win lane do well for 6-7 games straight and every damn time your team mates feed like their life depends on it, going 0 10 1 KDA or similar stats. You will loose control and start flaming them.

Problem itself is the shitty ranked system. The system purposely gives you bad teammates if you got positive win rate. Ranked should be about equal skill team vs equal skill opponents. Everyone has bad games and will loose lane, but it does not mean he/she is useless for the rest of the game. A diamond player is still a diamond player, even if he looses lane and he still has a chance to come back from it by being useful in objectives or teamfights.

It does not help either when the feeder is the 1 starting the flaming. Example blaming the jungler, adc blaming the support, jungler blaming everyone meanwhile never ganking any lane and so on.

When they constantly refuse to build correctly and do anything to even remotely play safer despite being reminded repeatedly in a calm and simple way, I think anyone would be entitled then to call out that shit player for losing us the game by being a braindead retard.

id argue that good players don't flame teammates that are doing terrible, even if they are obstinate in their playstyle. further tilting that player, yourself, or others on your team is not worth the minor relief you may feel after venting to everyone about how shit someone is.

good players that calm down situations > players that inflame an already miserable situation

According to science, your skill set is brought down to monkey level if you play while angry. Taking breaks or maybe playing Bots matches to recover can help you not put red flags on your account via rage or inting
