@Sotere - Your Problems With Karma

I'm tagging you directly. Whether or not you actually respond is . . . yeah. I think the players who main Karma . . . . want some context on what problems you are having with this champion and what we can do to help you. I just don't understand how you can ignore this champion . . . . for years and not fix or do anything to her. You did two things to this champion recently that really didn't do as much as you should. To be completely honest Karma doesn't even really need an overhaul. Her kit right now . . . . is not that bad . . . she just needs something added to her that makes better . . . . and we need to know what you are struggling with this champion . . . . so fans of this champion can get her to a place that she can do something.

We need you to direct us in what direction you want to take this champion in . . . because some of her current kit is not bad and other parts of it does nothing for her. Karma feels a lot like Cass with being that you have to spam one ability to actually do something.

My opinions:

Karma needs a new passive . . and a charge system with her ultimate that allows her to charge and use it more often.

Karma needs another damage component to her . . . seriously should consider bringing back her old R+E since fans really loved it on her.

Personally, what puzzles me the most is this:

Not even a year ago, they did this:

removing damage on R-E means we can up the ante on Gathering Fire's cooldown reduction

And a few days ago they wrote this:

  • Respect for old champs - In the days of yore, we’ve been bad neighbors to the old champs of LoL and cannibalized their mechanics (and often just made them stronger). These days we’re doing a good job of respecting the existing champs.

Does "removing a core spell of a champion" count as "cannibalizing their mechanics"? Because if this is the case, I have not yet heard, that anyone regrets removing Karma's shieldbomb. I mean, I really respect Riot for learning from their mistakes, but could they please stop making them on Karma? Or, you know, maybe adress or fix them?

They said it was because they didn't want her shield bomb to proc the passive.

Lol yeah so they take away her iconic spell and keep the passive nobody likes xD. Simple solution: keep shield bomb, remove that passive, give her a new passive, give her 2 mantra charges and an option to double charge her mantras from level 6. Can't see why that wouldn't have worked :/

Yes. But explain to me how "removing Karma's shieldbomb to buff her passive" doesn't equal "removing mechanics to buff a champion". Also, why would it be a good idea to make one of her mantra abilities not interact with her mantra passive?

Exactly. I have no idea why they did it.

My opinions:

We've argued before on different Karma-related threads but I think I'm in love with you at the moment.

To me, i feel her W is unreliable and not rewarding enough and have almost no reason to R+W. I think her R+W heal should scale with Mantra or if the enemy breaks the tether, they're rooted for half the duration.

IxtaliKing3 votes

At least when R+W had additional damage it felt quite rewarding, the 3s root feels stupid and out of place. A scaling heal would make the skill feel a lot better, I agree.

Agreed.

Honestly, from everything in her old kit, they had to keep the shitty tether thing? It's just weird. I wish she had a more reliable/cooler form of cc.

It doesn't even fit her character . . . . out of all the abilities that is the one I would like to see go . . . .

Traditional Karma splash looks so much like the original karma that it hurts, then you get the in game karma and it's like ughhhh gross.

I know. If you watch old Karma on Youtube . . . she seemed like so much fun to play. New Karma is not bad but it seems like she does not excel in mage or support . . . . she really only has one damage ability that does something . . . and before she could do a lot of damage, granted it was too much damage.

I've been on league since Season 1, I used to love trolling with karmas old passive the less hp you have the more ap you recieved. Bait people into chasing you then ulti shield and then ulti q, good times good times.

Old Karma was so much fun, especially late game. With max CDR and like 400 AP and some tanky items, you could do so much. AoE damage, shield, AoE heal, slow. So many different things, very versitile. The rework ruined her and I will never forgive Riot for that.

Im fine with Karmas damage, Im not fine with how clunky her spells come out at times, or how low her base stats are.

Her late game is bad. Karma's early game is probably too strong and she falls off really bad after six . . . . her passive is practically useless late game in my opinion. Even if they just adjusted how she scales . . . into late game . . . it would be much better than what she is now.
