Why does the community believe they can balance the game better than Riot?
It's pitiful reading thread after thread of "your changes" that are even worse than what Riot did to Veigar's E.

I don't think it's a matter of power balance, but popularity and play. People want
to be viable (who has a .1% pick rate) but are tired of
30.95% pick rate. Same with Thresh, who's #1 at 39.22%.
You'll also hear about Jinx, or even Graves, but generally people are tired of the most popular champions that dominate. Notice the difference between the most popular pick and the least popular pick, and that's why people complain about balancing. There's a bit of a difference... it can't be perfect, but until it is people are going to point out the flaws and give their opinions.

Because some things rito does seem to have really bad context for happening.
IF Viegar's stun silenced enemies in the area before the stun hit then it would have likely not been received so badly.
Also things like Urgot getting nerfed because he counters marksmen early game and makes them unable to farm safely. Yes that is basically what caused urgot to get nerfed into the trash tier he has been. For being a lane bully to marksmen even if riot will not admit it.
Then things like the kass ult nerf where a better option would likely have been making the cooldown longer or higher base mana cost of say 100 resulting in it caping off higher. 1600 mana cost for using an ability anyone?
Oh my god, I'm not alone.
Then again though, I must say I'm rather guilty of doing it to haha. I just wanted to see Darius be healthier for the game ( o 3 o)
Looking at some of the things Riot has done, I'm sure I'd do fine.
Personally I look at it in a more "individual view".
Whilst a majority of threads are fairly terrible (no explanations, balance decisions that'd make everyone cry) I've seen plenty of threads with proposed changes that are far and above better than what Riot's balance team has thrown out.
