What can even be done about Udyr at this point?

I don't even play , but with all the reworks lately it got me thinking. This champion is clearly outdated, and would probably require a VGU under normal circumstances. The problem is that Udyr is solidly pigeonholed into his current iteration, with little to no flexibility for future changes.

His visual update is obtainable through his ultimate skin, which is in everyway, both in theme and visuals, what Udyr should have been all along.

If they were to ever update Udyr, they would run into a dilemma, do they make something completely different as a base champion to preserve the differences between classic and SGUdyr? But then it would make the champion unrecognizable to his former self. Would they update his ultimate to fit his new reworked appearance? forcing people into a skin that they might not have wished for in the first place? Not better.

Can they even change his abilities? Udyr is know for his stances, which are also clearly protrayed in his ultimate skin. They can't remove his stances without being forced to change his appearance with it.

The easiest solution would be to merge SGUdyr into his new rework as it becomes the base skin, and then refund those who bougth it, which i doubt they'll ever do.

The introduction of his ultimate skin was so poorly thought out, that they made it almost impossible to rework or update him without assigning massive ressources and coordination into his rework, to a scale that would put him at the bottom of the list of reworks.

The best they can do is improve his gameplay, but without reworking his visuals, they can only do so much, and even then he would still look very outdated.

tl;dr: I doubt Udyr will ever have a VGU, or at least not in a VERY long time.
