can we change steraks recipe to two ruby crystals and a longsword?

i dont understand why a defensive item designed for health scaling bruisers has a build path that favours bonus ad scaling carries and assassins.

i just came out of a game, where building the item would have been ideal, if it wouldnt leave me relatively squishy for the entire duration until its finished.

its not a pure defensive item, but the emphasis is still on the burst shield and the protection it offers. the build path should reflect that.

If you change it to three ruby crystals, Taric approves.

i mean. ideally, it would be item 1011 + item 1036 which would make the build path smoother instead of that humongous combine cost, but id settle for replacing the single longsword with a ruby crystal.

Didn't its build path used to be Giant's Belt and Long Sword back before they added Jaurim's to smooth it out? (This also has the odd consequence of causing your total AD to drop if you complete Sterak's before your base AD hits 100.)

Maybe add a bit of health regen to it and have it build from Jaurim's and Crystalline Bracer. Bracer doesn't really get to build into much right now.

honestly, i dont know what they were thinking when they changed the build path to two longswords. it just doesnt make sense.

maybe they wanted to nerf it by increasing the combine cost? i dont know. either way it just feels wrong. its an item youre supposed to build mainly when you need protection, but has a very squishy, offensive build path.

the only reason they changed it like this is because a fully charged jaurims grants 300 health, with another ruby crystal that would make 450 health and 50 health over what the completed item offers.

but honestly, jaurims is a trash item that makes you pay in advance for stats you have to farm up, without becoming exceptionally gold efficient like similar items item 3070 item 3027

you literally just pay 450 gold for a item 1028 worth in health without actually getting the health right away, like you would if you just payed 400 gold for a ruby crystal.

id rather not have them shoehorn jaurims into the recipe for a weird double longsword build on top of how bad the item itself is and replace it entirely with giants belt, or change the recipe to 2 ruby crystals and a longsword instead.
