Riot, This Blue Essence Thing is Getting out of Hand.

So I've been leveling an account which is level 19 right now. I've bought 3 champions:

Talon (4800) Katarina (3150) Taric (1350)

Adding those plus the mastery 6 token on Talon I enchanted (3250), I've spent 12,550 BE on this account, which is a decent amount, but not even enough to buy 2 6300 champions.

I don't know how many hours/games I've played on this account, but to be level 19, coming on 20, and to have that little Blue Essence between chests, level ups, capsules, and first win bonuses seems like a little bit of a scam.

Right now I have 150 Blue Essence and I have no idea when I'll be able to either buy Camille or enchant mastery 7 on Talon, and I feel like this will take a very long time.

Upgrading mastery tokens is just such an expensive system overall. Your mastery on a champion isn't determined by your skill on the champion, rather how much you're willing to spend to display that mastery which I think is a broken system.

These high prices were okay for like a week after the IP change was made while inflation was going on, but it's long died down by now. Now it's just annoying.

If you're gonna give us this insulting amount of Blue Essence, lower the prices please.

Don't spend BE on masteries.

As you level up, you can get the shard, and use that instead (it's $free.99)

It took about the same time with the old IP system. You would also probably only be lvl 12 or so on the older systems. So I think the problem lies in the ratio of BE and lvls now, you play far less games before you get to lvl 30 but with less BE and therefore less champs by the time you can play ranked.

Which ultimately exposes the flaws of the new BE system. It was supposed to make it easier for new players to collect champs as they level, instead having the opposite effect. While you can potentially get more champs via shards from capsules, it is also highly random, and getting 4800+ champ shards is rare, meaning less BE from disenchants and a pool that is populated mostly by dated champs who more often than not need gameplay updates.

Pretty much. You may be getting roughly the same amount of BE as IP, but with how the level system is and other systems are currently it just doesn't feel as good.

You aren't designed to be spending BE on 6300 champs and mastery tokens as a new player. It isn't designed such that you're supposed to get 6300 champs quickly or easily.

The bottom line is that BE is faster for 99% of players (those who play 15 or so games per day or less), and it is better by quite a bit for those players playing 1-3 games per day (casually).

While mastery tokens are kinda a waste for new accounts, why should new players not want 6300 level champs? They are the newest champs, often have new ways to CC or debuff enemies that old champs don't, and usually won't have issues like some older champs do with the current state of the game. It's also possible that a new player got to try the latest release in free rotation and THAT is the champ they first fall in love with. I'm trying out other MOBAs, and will at least give LoL some credit that you can unlock champs faster for free than you can in Heroes of the Storm. I've yet to give DOTA a shot to compare that.

it feels like once the BE ran out, you are never going to get them back forcing us to buy champs with riot points! FIRST WIN OF THE DAY SHOULD GIVE AT LEAST 400BE
