Tack on "retarded", "brain-dead" (even in jest, it's only used to degrade something), and especially "autistic" (more specifically, when it's used as an insult) to that list, and you'll cover all of the bases, I think.

I can imagine a couple scenarios where appealing a ban would be appropriate.

Sure, hate speech is a no-go. But not every instance of a banned word is hate speech, which is why the appeal process exists.
Edit: lawl, the first part of my post was auto-censored. But that's sort of the point, yeah? The appeal process is there for edge cases where the rules don't do justice.

Obviously the 'kys' one crosses a line because it is HARASSMENT. You are suggesting that somebody commit suicide which I believe is actually a punishable crime, depending on the circumstances.
I only report people for HARASSMENT or TROLLING in game.

If you didn't say the word, but portrayed the word in a manner that is understandable and able to be infered, does that Warrenton a ban itself?

Would like to add in the exception, sometimes trolls prey on people who don't realize immediately that they're being baited into saying something zero tolerance. Examples include people in champ select who claim they will int in a lane unless said lane says "neck yourself" 3 times. At first, if you don't understand that neck yourself means kill yourself (I didn't when I first heard it used), you might decide to play along and just say it.
I think I would still post my logs in that situation.
