I keep making the same freakin' mistake

Trusting my teammates.

In my history of LoL, most of my games were played with friends, and especially with my girlfriend. Communication is a great tool.

Problem is, i've grown adapted to it. Whenever i go into solo plays, it becomes a disaster. At least half of my deaths can relate to me, trusting that my teammates would take my cue. I end up in an awkward position, initiating alone, taking risks. Sometimes trying to save a teammate, pick up a kill, etc. Sometimes i'm pissed at my teammates, but in the end, those deaths could have been avoided if i played a bit more selfish.

I think it's a shame really. I sacrifice myself way too much trying to save an ally that put himself in trouble or to make an unresponded play, and it's kinda hard getting out of this habit.

Anyone else has ever been in a similar situation, and maybe can teach me a thing or two?

For the most part, I never assume that my teammates and I are on the same page. Something may seem obvious to you, so you think that your teammates see it as well. Chances are, it was not as obvious as you thought, or they just straight didn't notice it. It's a good idea to communicate even basic ideas to your team using pings, like pinging on the enemy you want to target, then pinging on my way to indicate you are about to engage. So long as you don't spam ping and become annoying, it should help your teammates to better understand what you are doing.

this is part of why blitzcrank is a great pick. His engagements are so blatantly obvious my cat once followed in on one.

Anivia I wall off all my stupid team mates that get caught out, sometimes they gota learn the hard way so they wont make the same mistake twice

I gotta start playing this champ.

depends on the elo,

low elo = dont trust

higher elo = sometimes trust.

If its an awkward gank always do not trust the laner.

Story of my life. Sometimes you must rely only on yourself as the team. I finally played with the dumb mindset of "im gonna completely ignore my team and what they do, this is a 1v5 for me" and carried myself with a 75% winrate from b4 to s3. The 4 players you are playing with all have different playstyles/objectives in their mind so you just have to fall through with your own, it is rare that teams even try to cope with each other's playstyle.

I feel like this is a little harder when you main support.

Except for when Malzahar was support. That was busted. He would've carried me past Silver 5 for sure. ;c

I have this issue all time along,i love to play a teamgane, but when i do.I finding it only frustrating, since my team usually has other looks at it.So now i trying to play more selfish, and you know what? sadly it works better...

You play jg, you kind of have to trust your team. I trust my team and usually have no problems, but it happens. I would say most of my recent losses have been more to "unskilled" players. And recently have had teammates who will trust my insane calls (2 man Baron at 23min, Baron rush with all 5 up TWICE, etc). So it is fine.

That said. My best games are the few games where I heavily focus on KDA. Normally I say screw my KDA, I just want the win. But when I play to protect my KDA, I just make smarter calls overall. My normal calls workout, but yea.

I don't trust my teammates until their 4 man premade makes it a 5v1 at top lane @5:00 mins when I'm playing Susan.

Until they prove otherwise, assume your whole team is retarded.

Don't save anyone that isn't more useful than you are. If they're playing a champ that's more potentially useful and have items that are more useful but you know they aren't that good don't even bother unless they are that drastically more impactful than you.

Typically if it isn't the ADC, don't die for them unless your team really needs them more than you.

at least you know what mistake your making and knowing is half the battle :D [sg-ahri-2]

If you just assume your teammates aren't going to do anything but right click on enemy champions and likely die you'll never make that mistake lol

Its sad but when playing solo q when there isn't trust and everyone isn't on the same page people refuse to use teamwork like its the plague even when its a safe play

Your teammates will suck sometimes, and there's nothing you can do about it. This is why the game's best players only have about a 53-55% winrate. Kind of sucks to be stuck in a meta where regardless of what you do, the game is in the hands of your ADC 90% of the time.

and thats the reason why everyone in plat+ believes they're hot stuff and everyone else is an idiot but them and why they have to be the one to carry the game and why team based champion choices no longer exist, its zed/riven/irelia all the way to the top from now on.

i'm not saying that i'm better than anyone on my team but i've played this game too long to just know how things will pan out before it even starts. i'm starting to just play for myself that way if t ends badly for me i can't blame anyone but me.

Every time, OP.

Every time I try roaming, helping my jungler invading or getting invaded, responding to a non-ideal gank and teamfighting or jacking off looking for an opportunity for a teamfight, I regret it.

I have this mental "Don't do this" list that I keep forgetting about and the point #1 on said list is "Stay in your fucking lane". Point #2 is "Unless your team is there to steal all your farm, then go somewhere else".

Usually you can trust your teammates in like G3+ as long as you ping

SOoooo go watch Phylol, foxdrop.... those can explain basics (youtube ofc) Soloqueue means soloplayer most of the time... your team is mostlikely to be garbage... I could start explaining for like hours what you can do better.... but you dont want to read all that... trust me....

bleufromage1 votes

I would say instead of trying to make the plays follow your teams lead. If your in an elo where your team can't see what you are going to do then you need to work around them. It's better to make a bad decision as a team rather than make a good decision by youself and no one else on board.

Pings help a lot, ping where are you going, ping who to focus, ping when to back off, ping if you see someone flanking all that stuff, don't ping just ones and ping near your teammates SO THEY ACTUALLY SEE YOU, and even more importantly, so they see what you want them to do. No seriously, give it a try, it might be hard at first, but it's like a single great way to make coordinated plays in soloQ

This is the issue with me going from HotS to League back to HotS and loop it.

You learn to trust your teammates before learning you can't trust them before figuring out again that not trusting them only harms your chances at winning to learning that they will throw you under the bus at the slightest provocation.

The disparity between two games in the same genre is so fucking jarring it's weird.

Everyone says their plays are next level and their team should git gud, but all I see is people suiciding and flaming afterwards.

You have to play selfish - which is actually harder to do than you'd think. Watch Trick2g if you want pointers.
