Is shaco worth picking

Shaco seems like he could be a fun champion. I've ayed him but I didn't do that well nor did I feed. That's because im no shaclone and I also don't int because im not shaclone.i don't know why people int if they get nothing out of it when they can just leave. Anyways I don't see too many shacos but if he gets ahead, he destroys early to mid game. Don't know about late game. You blink in and back stab and put a box down and ult of you have it up. Anyways is shaco good at the moment and also should I go ad, AP, or tank.
