One of the biggest problems with Dynamic Queue is that "Fill" is actually just "Usually Support"

And instead, Fill should let you actually 'fill' in any position on a far more random basis OR we should be able to select what role we don't want or can't do, instead of what's just needed all the time, which is almost always support.

In solo, I used to type in jungle>mid>top>support>adc most of the time just due to preference, but now? Game tells you what you're playing, and people are sometimes even more dignified in saying, the game chose this role for me, rather than the old pick order>call order.

Riot is capable of putting out % of roles queue'd up for at any given time, why can't we put some sort of preference for what roles we get and how often.

Riot can act like the queue times will go up by a bit, and sure they will, because you don't incentivize the role or those that don't care if they do get support. Like in WoW, you get more rewards by filling the 'healing' role when you fill a random group and complete it. There should be an incentive around hextech crafting if you fill the support role and win.

Fill means you get placed into whatever a team that's being arranged on queue needs...which is usually support. Want it to feel random? Roll some dice. Idk man but fill is doing what it's supposed to.

No, it's not doing what it's suppose to.

What it's suppose to do is reduce Queue times for everyone, because some people who wouldn't have put support would get it via fill. What it's doing is being avoided like the plague, causing a decrease in the number of players available to help the positions with the most need.

Riot's even mentioned that Fill being Support all the time is "a big problem"

Funny thing is before dynamic que was created saying fill in champ select usually meant support as well. Selecting fill is only doing what it used to do, nothing more and nothing less. It's working as intended. You fix it by not selecting fill and actually selecting 2 roles.

Or by being a support main :D

No... no it didn't. Because before there were people who would take Support as a Second/Third choice, resulting with you going other places. Fill was far more random before than it is now.

Tell yourself w/e you need to tell yourself but in my experience if you said fill you would support 99% of the time. So basically its nothing that me or you can prove. Support is the role that not many wish to do so please stop trying to tell yourself that it's different in dynamic que because it really isn't.

Please uninstall from League if you can't understand basic principles. This is easy math, and prediction, shouldn't be rocket science as to why you end up support. The system is doing it's thing cause support is obviously the most needed role, and no one hardly plays support but a small majority compared to the larger majority queing up for something else. Only logical you'll end up support if you pick support or fill. No ifs, buts about it, stop crying already and pick a legit 2 roles you want.

The system is working, it's a matter of getting people to play support that is the problem.

People complain about not enough supports in the system, so Riot tries to create more supports though osmosis. And everyone hates it.

I have no Idea why people think the primary/secondary roles mean hard percentages. The system Riot crafted is designed to reduce waiting times, by requiring people to be a little more flexible. You can either have a system that guarantees that you get the position you wanted, or they can try to reduce waiting times to be short as possible. (And I'm pretty sure getting games out and going is Riots main concern.)

We agree that position matchmaking is a little too loose atm. It uses a fairly naive algorithm resulting in players getting their secondary too frequently in a few cases. We are targeting this for improvement, no ETA to share yet though.

AKA: We screwed up, the system needs to be more complex than we initially made it. That runs completely contrary to your post.

This (Fill always being Support) is a big problem. That (position selection) and high MMR matchmaking are our two highest priorities.

I queue up as support/fill allot and wind up jungle. i assume thet because it always insta finds me a team i would get support but then i get into a game where the support player had fill or support as their secondary, so why am i geting fill as my primary when support is the least used roll. =(

Oh look, yet another clueless people who confuses Dynamic Queue and the new Champ select. They are two different things.
