Seems to me that this item is only built on champions that are tanks and bruisers who don't want to get poked to death.

Yeah this is stupid. Poke is too strong in ARAM. Melee champs need this option.

Honestly, I'd say melee and tanks need Warmogs in ARAM because of all the poke, especially in cases where you're against a team with a shit ton of poke. Here's an example of one I went against as an Amumu: Vel'koz, Brand, Vayne, Ziggs, Quinn. That game was hellish with all their ridiculous poke and cc but with Warmogs it allowed me to back for a moment to be able to take their abilities for my team. With Warmogs, you're able to be given atleast some comfort from the immense bursts of damage against high poke teams like mentioned above. But that's just my grai of salt :P

Yeah, if you are on an all melee team vs all ranged team, it's probably going to be the only thing letting you get close to the other side.

Maybe they should make it melee only for ARAM.

It's only for the Bilgewater event, not permanently.

And it is a pretty popular item.

Despite the "must take on all champion" thing being wrong, I agree that Warmog sort of breaks ARAM's rules. Honestly removing it wouldn't bother me.

While it's true that Warmog's helps tanks survive poke, it's also the reason why the team with more tanks and/or Soraka is guaranteed a win if they don't throw the game, since nothing actually counters Warmog's healing (no source of grievous wounds lasts long enough to still be active by the time Warmog's starts to heal its user).
