how does armor/mr work with alistars ult?

lets say you have 100 armor which reduces 50% of physical damage. and your ult (to make it more fluent) also reduces 50%

lets say you get autoattacked by a regular adc (no random modifications like jhin crit) involved and said adc has 1000 ad.

so does the game calculate it that first, 500 damage is reduced by armor and then another 250 is reduces from your ult? resulting in you getting 250 damage per aa? or does it calculate it in a different way?

I believe so

Its post-mitigation reduction, so the damage is reduced by stats and then by 50/60/70%. But ultimately its irrelevant since % multipliers would multiply regardless, only flat reduction works differently post- or pre-mitigation.

afaik Amumu has the only post-mitigation flat reduction in the game allowing very low damage to be reduced to literal 0.
