3400 gold is too cheap for 
an item that gives a bigger power spike than 
which costs 3800. Its quite common to see adcs complete 3 big items at 25 minutes and become impossible to itemize against because they can shred through any tankiness even in the midgame where they are supposed to be weak.
all should cost about 3700-3900 gold.

and hence we started seeing hyper carries coming back cuz they can get those items cheaper and hit power curves faster

So that tells me something about your skill level if its "quite common" to see that.
