How to get out of Bronze!
Hello, my name is Vixonia. In 10 placement matches I had 6 with afks/disconnects. I lost only one match in which I had a full team. So I started the season in bronze five. Have sinced worked my way up to bronze 3. I’m currently on a 9 game streak. And with any luck and a free weekend will in silver this weekend. And I will have done it buy using these methods.
- Pick a main role, and champ
- Learn how to form and control a minion wave
- Buy wards/upgrade trinkets
- Play team oriented champs
- Understand objective priority
Run down Pick a main role, and champion. First don’t be playing ranked if you can’t play every role b/c you are not going to get the role you want every time. You need to know the champion you are best with for each position, and always use this champion for that role. In the case that your champion is banned or picked by the enemy, you need at least 1 fall back champion for each role. Now try your best to play the same role same champion every match possible. The reasoning behind this is, it’s better to play a champion your amazing at . Then taking a counter pick that you’re just decent with. Playing the champion you are best at constantly will always give you an advantage over people who constantly play different champions. For example; I play Vi jungle 99% of the time, if I get the role but not the champion my fall back is Wukong. If I can’t get the role I take Malzahar mid.
Learn how to form and control a minion wave. Working my way through bronze I see this constantly. So many people don’t even know what this means, or how to do it. I will try to explain in this section, but for a visual I recommend checking out videos by renektononly on youtube. Setting enemy wave up to push. This technique is pretty simple. A formed minion wave will outpush a non formed one. All you have to do is entercept the enemy wave before it meets your wave, the minions will start to form up and attack you. Once the wave is formed move back behind your wave. Now the enemy wave will push towards you tower. Do this if you don’t feel it’s safe to venture out very far How to freeze a wave. To freeze a wave only last hit at the very last moment possible. And insure that the enemy wave always has between 1 to 2 minions more than you. Setting a wave to push. This is very important how many times have you stalled out at taking inhibitor turret, and you wished you could go take out bot lanes inner turret. But alias there is no minion wave. If you set the wave up to push before this won’t be a problem and will make it much harder for the enemy to try and backdoor. This is very simple once the waves meet do not kill the entire enemy wave immediately, simply make sure that your wave has at least a 3 minion advantage. If you do this the lane will push until stopped by an enemy champion.
Vision is soooooooo important. But yet you see people only buying them when they are getting camped. And they fill like it should be the support putting out all the wards. As I have said I play Vi jungle, on my first back I always pick up a pink ward. And place it in the bush just below mid. This has saved my mid laner and bot lane from getting ganked sooooo many times. By doing this I have kept countless gold out of the enemies hand. So please buy wards throughout the game. The gold used to buy them will justify the gold you deny the enemy by not allowing them to gank. The trinket ward upgrades to a pink for 250g now. There is no reason to not do this as soon as possible. You can keep great vision as well as use it to clear wards. Thus allowing your jungler to have more successful ganks.
Play team oriented champions. Try and stay away from champions like Leblanc, Shaco, or Teemo. Play champions that bring a lot to a team fight other than burst. Look for something with good crowd control. And that can be played defensively as well. For example again my Vi, she brings a knock back/ stun as well as her ult, which allows me to break through the enemy lines and get to the carry. Not only can I use her to lockdown an enemy for a short time. But I can provide peel for my carry as well. And this makes me viable whether I get fed or not.
objective priority can win or lose games. First and foremost, Dragon is not baron! Dragon is not worth losing any other objective. I hate when my team wins a team fight, 4 enemies down. But instead of taking a tower or maybe even two. It’s like “omg dragons up, we have to get dragon!!!”. NO, NO, NO!!!! when this happens take the towers, don’t over stay, ward on your way out and head to dragon. And don’t lose towers trying to take dragon!! It’s not worth. The buffs dragon give are not really that substantial. But the global gold given by taking or losing a turret is. Think of it this way; don’t sacrifice something that doesn’t re-spawn for something that does. If you miss the dragon it’s ok! It will be back soon.
