Curious discussion of a change to placement method

6 of my matches had at least 1 afk or disconnects in them. While i did everything i could, i could not pull out a win on those six games. out of the matches where i had full teams. i only lost 1 match. but alas i am placed in bronze five. I'm curious why a system cant be put in to account for your personal performance in placement matches. That would account for a disconnect. as well as win loss. While i do not mind the struggle. it is disheartening when i play with a group, going up against a team of all gold+ my performance is still on spot. but b/c of disconnects in placement matches, i am severely held back in ranking. Just curious on other peoples thoughts.

in using a site such as lolskill.net which compares your performance to the average player. on every match with the exception of one with 2 disconnects. i performed significantly higher than the average player. but still i'm thrown in the bottom of the barrel. in a graph (link @ bottom of post) though from 2013, i doubt the spread has changed much shows that the largest group of players are in high bronze/low silver. so if those are the average players, and i'm playing 54% better than the average player shouldn't i be placed with the players showing the same statistical performance as myself.

Now before you make the debate that players would then just play for good stats. which is possible, in the matches i played. i didn't play for stats. i dove towers when needed and took all the same risks i would in any match.

Seeing these stories on the boards make me not want to finish my ranked provisionals. A lot of people are having these problems, alas I believe when riot changes the current rank system that put you there, it is more likely that the people who are already screwed over will not get their fix as opposed to let's say making everyone retake provisionals with a better system.
