I have an idea for a Nasus rework.

Now everyone loves and knows how Nasus is iconic for his infinite scaling Q, but because of that he is annoying as hell to lane against as you constantly need to stop him from farming, and his teamfight suffers tremendously because he has to lose power in the rest of his kit for that infinite scaling Q.

New Passive: Soul Eater: Nasus absorbs the life essence of champions surrounding him, stealing 5-20 health per second and healing him for an equal amount, the range is the same as Sunfire Cape. Magic damage.

New Q: Siphoning Strike: Nasus empowers his next attack, doing damage based on his AD and number of stacks he has. When he kills an enemy with Siphoning Strike, Nasus gains 3 stacks, doubling on large monster, cannon minions, and champion kills, capping at 200 stacks. This will have a lower cooldown at max rank, so he can use his Q a lot more often as it won't deal tons of damage anymore.

New W: Wither: Nasus ages target champion, slowing their movespeed and half for attack speed. If Nasus uses Siphoning Strike on a withered target, they are stunned for 1-2 seconds.

E: Spirit fire: Still the same, just caps at 100 mana instead of 120.

R: Fury of the Sands: Still the same, except his Wither and E have their increased, and his passive is 50% more effective.

Thoughts on this? I know everyone loves Nasus for his infinite Q but a lot of people also hate laning against him and his infinite scaling Q, destroying towers super rapidly.

What insightful discussion, you really explained why this isn't good.

Okay, going through.

First, passive. You changed 10-20% lifesteal (which interacts with Q) to 5-20 health a second per nearby enemy champion. At 400 Q stacks (Nowhere near a lot; this is an optimal 20-25 minutes amount) this went from ~58 health a Q on enemy minions to what I would estimate as 12-15 health a second nearby enemy champions. So this passive... it exists. It helps his teamfight some if he can never Q, but if he can never Q his teamfight was already shit and some passive health sustain isn't going to help.

Q. Dear god no. 200 stacks, for comparison, is EASILY reached by 10-15 minutes (depending on personal runes and first items). If, in the SLOWEST Q stacking stage he can equal this max before laning has even ended it's bad. For one, a large portion of Nasus's power is in Q, W, and R. You basically removed Q.

W. So Nasus is more annoying in duels, otherwise still meh in teamfights due to peel and kiting. You realize Q has, at max rank and cdr, 2.4 seconds cooldown and you said it would have a lower cooldown? Yeah. Nobody wants to be chain stunned for 6 seconds.

E. So minor mana cost decreases. Not really anything to say here.

R. You know, I don't think the %max hp per second AoE health boosting ultimate that also gives up to 300 AD NEEDS even more power added to it. Yes, it's his ultimate, but it is already one of the most powerful stat ultimates in the game if it isn't already. Making it even more powerful while gimping his Q is not something I would like to see for Nasus.

Basically, you changed "infinite stacking" to "you have all your stacks before laning phase ends". For why this is bad, please see Veigar, Thresh, and Sion and tell me how much they would like their infinite power stacking fantasy removed and an incredibly weak 'stack this for 5 minutes' put there instead.

I didn't really think about when his Q should cap, I think it should cap as long as the rest of his kit can be buffed but I can see how 200 is way too low.

His R used to give increased range on his W and E, I was just thinking about adding it back.

The passive was from an idea from a story I read about how being near a godlike being relative to you feels like he is crushing and killing you without doing anything. Do you think he should have lifesteal instead or a different passive? I was thinking about this being changed because his laning is super annoying as you need to babysit him for a long time or watch him spiral out of control.

For his W stun, I forgot to add it in there, but if he Q'd the enemy who was wither'd, the slow would be removed and then they would be stunned. While it makes his dueling balls more annoying to play against, it allows his peel to be better and have an option in teamfights to either wither someone who wants to dive then Q them, or just leave them wither'd and continue diving.

I guess this might take more work to seem like a better idea, needs a bit of work from what you have said so far.

Do you have anything that could be changed as well to add? I really appreciate the feedback!

If you think nasus is annoying to lane against then you should play him before you start crying his early game is bad also the limited stacks will kill him

I don't think he's annoying for me, I can play around him easily, I just see people complain about him and have been thinking about what to do.

I remember some Rioters saying they don't want to touch him as he can be broken with a slight buff and potentially useless with a slight nerf and want to rework his passive/Q someday.

Or you know, learn how to play against a Nasus?????? The perfect counter is to not have an ad top laner with an ad jungler or vice versa

IsIsGankedParis1 votes

I'm not complaining about Nasus, I'm just listing what people complain about him. I don't have much issues against Nasus myself, I play around him.

I'm just trying to think of a way to change him a little so that he can get buffs without being out of control like early season 4.

People complain about him because they dont know how to play vs him. He doesnt need a rework, he's easy to beat if you know what you're doing

200 stacks is absolutely nothing. That would barely make up for the base damage most autoattack resets have.

That passive nerf is just plain gutting his sustain.
