Riot, why are you ok leaving Tahm Kench with such a low win rate as a support champion?

I love playing the champion but holy hell you have to do something about his ability to perform in bottom lane as a support champion. Hes NOT tanky enough for how long he needs to spend in the face of the enemy team. I get that you hate him for his ally-saving ability in a professional setting but you make him a SUPPORT champion primarily and he just isn't cutting it. You need to either return much of his grey-health conversion for sustain or up his base HP/5 or armor to let him survive better. He feels like complete and utter garbage right now. I've been playing this champion since he came out religiously and I still feel like I'm actually hurting my team's chances of winning by picking him. DO NOT leave him like you did Evelynn before the rework.

He falls flat in both typical bot lane scenarios where you have poke supports who just whittle you down over and over and fails in all-ins because he might be able to save his carry but he can't save himself anymore. I should not feel like a detriment to my team every single game I pick him in his intended role. This is unacceptable.

Because he's broken in pro play.

It's a curse many champions face.

And to a lesser extent, mostly in lower elos

You'll notice a trend among these including tahm -- largely these characters have a tool that breaks the vision game, which is much stronger to capatalize on in organized play, or have massive range (in some cases global) ults that require a huge amount of coordination to make the most use of.

His eating mechanic is too strong, imo. Syndra ult? Nope, Tahm eats carry. Etc.

It's sad too, because that one mechanic is literally eating his entire power budget. I am starting to think that Riot just needs to do away with it and give him a complete rework. He can't exist like this for much longer without just being ignored.

It's 'cause he basically doesn't have an ult. It's only useful if you're cheesing as him top and so don't need to bring an ally, or in a highly coordinated team like the pros.

If like other tank supports, he had an engage or disengage ult, he'd be a viable support. Sure, he'd lose something he has that others don't. But that thing he has isn't good for his role.

One of many champions who breaks pro play for reasons outlined above. If LoL was a real sport rather than a copyright, closed-source, proprietary, commercial service, you could tweak the rules for local play, but it isn't, so you can't, and Tahm et al. will be garbage for 99.999% of the playerbase. =\

He has such good peel and protection for his ADC that it's honestly insane.

Profirix2 votes

He really doesn't. You can peel one person, not more than that. If both your opposing ADC and support do damage you melt so fast. Bot lane has devolved into which team has more poke or burst damage. High burst ADCs tear through Tahm so fast that even having close to a second health bar doesn't matter because it lasts for such a short period of time, then you are left with next to nothing. If you can't kill the enemy carry before that shield breaks you rot. It essentially requires your ADC to do everything. You can't defend yourself. The best supports can both defend themselves and threaten the enemy.

He doesn't have a 44% win rate and a low pick rate for no reason. He is clearly under-performing at his intended role.

Except you don't melt if you have proper positioning? As a tank, the only way you are melted is if you play against a tank buster. And the amount of peel you can provide for an adc is insane. Your W literally counters all assassins.

So they don't focus your carry, they focus you. You either get in the face of the enemy or you sit back and just wait for them to engage your carry and pick them up and run. You can't do both.

If they focus the tank, then they've now wasted time and positioning, meaning that your ADC now is chipping them down. And yeah you can do both. But Tahm isn't an engage tank. He's a disengage tank.
