@Meddler, Can we talk about Azir's rework please?

Let's face facts: Azir is a problematic champion whose balance state walks a very delicate line. Fortunately, right now, he seems to be walking that line fairly well. Azir is in a perfectly okay spot for plat and below (so 90% of the player base) if the time is taken to learn him. He could use a slight buff perhaps, but a 45% win rate is balanced for high skill ceiling champions. There are 136 champions to choose from; why can't niche champions be allowed to exist? Just because he isn't picked often doesn't mean he needs to be reworked. Yes, he is hard to balance, but he is balanced right now. Why try to "fix" what isn't broken. He is in a good spot right now--he has a weakish early game and scales decently into late game. The people championing for his rework are those players who probably have less than 25 games on him.

I know his rework is pretty far off in the pipeline, but this is a plea to put his rework on the sidelines. Don't trap the poor sand bird in an endless rework cycle, where with each rework, he slowly loses part of his identity until he becomes another champion entirely. Azir is like Le'blanc, Fizz, or Rengar where he will always be one of those problematic champions, and it's important to recognize that.

If I'm not mistaken they've sort of tried to balance him around this weird poke playstyle which seems rather counter intuitive to what he's supposed to be. I imagine he's supposed to be in a similar niche as Cassi and I feel like consolidating a lot of his power into his soldiers would make that happen. He's really not a champ that needs a rework, the groundwork for a very high skill cap, high dps mage is there. It just needs to be realized in the correct way. I always thought he was meant to be that sort of dps style mage but last time I saw him in competitive he was doing very little besides Qing people and making them crazy wall plays. Course maybe they don't want characters that can push as hard as Azir can. But that's sorta his thing, isn't it? He's an emperor, leading the march.
