@Riot why do you refuse to balance Thresh?

Cloud273··4 votes·836 views

There's a reason why he's had the highest play rate for so long (and also the highest play rate in LCS. If not the highest one of the highest played champs.). He has possibly the most loaded kit in this game. Like Yasuo, I don't care how balanced you think he is. I'm sick of seeing him. I want to see supports that rely on strategy to win, and not just "who can land the first hook/pull" (blitz/thresh).

tl;dr he isn't busted, he's cool. He is simply one of the funnest/coolest supports. He is easily countered and Blitzcrank has a far better grab. I wish people would check win rates before the complained about op champions.

well, thresh does have the top support pick rate and according to when his skills are properly maxed in order, a 61% win rate? the site also lists that only 1 in 5 thresh pick that order

stats can be misleading....

What's wrong with good thresh players carrying games?

3TWarrior1 votes

the point is that very very few champions are actually underpowered now and instead when played properly can be done well enough to provide a significant advantage over the "common" usage of such champion

riot is doing its best (so far as we know) to balance champions (even if they make crazy judgement calls) that leave champions with an average win rate but allow some players to be exceptional with them and these exceptional players break the system

Highest play rate but still a very low winrate. He doesn't even break 50% winrate.

His kit is good, and he needs a lot of skill and time to be good at. If you are against a Thresh, just try to dodge his skillshot and you'll be mostly okay.

If you round up it actually is a 50% win rate. And his 'q' hitbox has been buggy as hell every since it came out, but for some reason Riot refuses to fix this.

As far as the whole "high skill" argument goes, I could say the same thing about Yasuo. But you can ask literally anyone and they will tell you Yasuo's kit is not healthy for this game.

Do you know why you don't round up winrates? it's because those 0.04% is actually equal to tens of thousands of games.

The thing about yasuo is, you don't need to fire and skillshots theoretically. You can e q and still knock people up. Blitzcrank's q hitbox is probably even more buggy. Yasuo and Thresh are two fundamentally different champions. You can't say that champion x is equal to champion y because people have problems playing as or against them. x=/=y. Yasuo does need skill to play, but he has a much lower skill floor than thresh.

it's actually not that much of a big deal

thresh has been played close to a million games in the past month. when you increase his win rate by 2.5% to 50%, it is only a rough change of about 24,000 games

however, if you want to look at an actual statistic, only 20% of thresh players max his abilities in the proper order and these 20% that do max it in the proper order have a 61% win rate

sounds interesting, right?

so, it's not unfeasable

thresh is in 25% of games, if you take a fifth of that, one in twenty games has an outstanding thresh player...

he isn't op? just play Morgana

lol if i wanna be a pain in the ass as a support and have a hook ill just play Nautilus and out play thresh and blitz

Lmao if you think Thresh isn't balanced you should see Pudge in Dota.

i barely even see thresh anymore

i would rather see him than have these retards playing malzahar and losing my lane from level 1 tbh

I want to know what you think is "rely on strategy to win". because thresh i think fits that bill.

There is no strategy to Thresh. If someone doesn't know who to pick, they can be like "I'll just pick Thresh, because he does pretty much everything".

When it comes to supports, Soraka is a true example of strategy. She can't just mindlessly spam her heal all day and she no longer has a point and click silence. You need to be very careful about using heals or you'll get yourself killed. See what I mean? It's less about reflexes (landing skillshots/dodging skillshots) and more about picking the right time to use your abilities.

lmao you're saying soraka is harder to play than thresh?

LOL u think Zed is weak?

He offers nothing else but damage. The only reason why he isn't shit tier is because Zed mains can actually put him to use. How about just getting good instead of being trash and complaining about champions that obviously wreck noobs. Maybe learn to dodge and outplay someone?

Good luck dodging a Zed ult lol. There's SOOO much "outplay" potential there.

Incarceration1 votes

So just a Zed ult can one shot you. Nice implication. I know you're that fking bad enough to not be able to dodge a simple ability and actually outdamage him, but whatever.

Wow, what irony. Vi, Kayle, Twitch, Vayne, all so much counterplay. fk off.

He is one of the worst champs in the game.

BeatzBoyFTW1 votes

He's kind of k at the moment, unlike someone who just dashes to & fro thinking he's Faker or BengiLeeSin. It takes one missed hook to render him vulnerable to any engages.

"Thresh is weak!" -- says Riot.

Blitz and thresh are just dumb. You hit your Q?, ok well done, you won the teamfight. You didnt? no problem, try again.
