Not really trying to have an opinion in either direction. I heard Riot said something about taking 
out of the game, from one of my friends. I would love it if someone could confirm, or clear up the confusion.

Bring the cost down to 2550. And give it back the MR they took away. Using the league wiki. 20AP is worth more than 20 MR. And Lower the price of Chalice. Only makes it even worse that it takes longer to get your mp/5 item. The cost reduction I suggested could just come strait from Chalice.
The mana regen difference is in a good spot right now. With no mana items as long as you maintain an average of around 60% current mana Athene's equals Morellos. Less than that and it's stronger.
Morello's is still stronger because the debuff helps vs life steal, higher AP and it is cheaper. Unless you really want the MR, the choice is easy.
