I still don't get how people are determined for a role

I used to think this that mid would be only for mages, but then when I started seeing this bullish- in lane, Yasuo, I don't know. I'm assuming it's like this?

Top- durability, damage Mid- AoE damage Jungle- ??? Bot- High range, or a ranged attack damage champion Support- crowd control and/or utility

It's still pretty confusing to me, and does anyone know the requirements for jungle?

As simple as it can get: You live with more than 60% hp through your first clear AND have a reasonable cleartime? Congratulations, you can be played.

It is a matter choice really but the normal team has the following:

##top: home for bruisers, tanks, juggernauts(bruisers with a lot of health but little mobility), ap bruisers and every now and then the a lost adc.

##Bot carry: Usually and ADC(attack damage carry(ad champ with range)), but once every so often a champion that is really good against adc takes this role(mordekaiser or ziggs).

##Support: Crowd control/Utility/extra carry champion that can live on support gold.

##Mid :

damage carry with roaming potential.(can be ap or ad really, but has to deal a lot of damage).

##Jungle: champion that has 1 of 2 options

  1. Is able to easily gank lanes
  2. Can hard farm the jungle and become a late game damage monster/super tank

Well, I think you can technically play anything jungle. Now if you mean a meta jungler, normally it's someone who can survive the jungle with enough health to be helpful to the team, so either someone with good clear, a heal or shield to help with clear, CC to help with clear.

There are honestly only a handful of champions that can jungle clear quick enough, while avoiding being counter jungled, and also counter jungle, while getting in ganks pre 6. Common ones you'll see include Lee Sin, Elise, Rengar, Khazix, and Graves to name a few.

Champions like Hecarim and Shyvana take a lot of gold to get good and can get camped and counter jungled so hard. Any good Lee Sin or Elise will be able to delay their progress to level 6, and starve them of early game gold, which means they'll never get a chance to pull off good ganks during laning phase.
