Why don't people ever learn the good things from worlds?

Like farming when you're down instead of trying to go for kills when you clearly can't kill them or picking champions that can make good combos, but instead people think they're pro and play MF support.

The #1 thing everyone should take from worlds.

Vision control wins games. drop those wards everyone.

Vision control when you're the best players playing against the best players wins games

Vision control when you're low elo playing vs low elo doesn't win games.

this comment summs up low elo thick as bricks.

Viktorious Sayph8 votes

Actually he's right. In low elo, if you drop a ward, and enemy appears, you ping 27345723428 times and they call you "why don't you ss?" XD

11/10 would afk

dominusx1 votes

as i said THICK AS BRICKS. no wonder i get like 30kills per game everywhere below plat. they must be playing on a small monitor with mini map on 0 and chat on 100 so they can flame more lul

He's right tho

Vision control is one thing, knowing how to use it is what's important. What's the point in warding if you don't bother using it? Even in low elo, warding can win games as long as you use it properly

Now that's where you're wrong. Vision is such a simple and easy to see aspect of the game that it helps in all levels of play. When you're pushing a lane and you have vision the simple fact that you can see someone coming for you - even if its a bit late because you don't watch the map as much as you should - helps a lot. Even if when we don't think about that, to anyone who's not super new to the game, going into unknown territory is always scarier. People at high level would be able to tell that, yea the enemy team just backed so I have time to push, even without having express vision around them. On the other hand low elo players just see fog of war and think "I'm not going in there, you go" thereby stopping them from doing anything when they should, especially when losing the game or they try to do too much.

The simplest examples are with support and jungle who aren't as concerned with their 'lane' as someone actively farming and trading. They make the most of vision no matter the level of play. Even though higher level players make more use of the information vision gives doesn't mean low level players don't need vision just as much.

Ok but:

You can use the vision for yourself, to catch out the scrubs without ending up in 1v5s

TeCoolMage1 votes

To add to your point: lower elos should focus on denying vision more than making it, as having the entire enemy team sitting on a gray map is better than your team wondering why you're placing down wards

Why would you watch worlds to learn anything when you can see those kinds of picks and think "MAYBE I CAN DO THIS IN BRONZE SOLO Q - NO ONE WOULD EXPECT IT"

certain things you can take from LCS but people tend to take the "wrong things".

You spelled fixed wrong.

PB4UAME2 votes

Except, he didn't? He spelt it entirely correctly with the apostrophe. If the proper past tense was "Fixxed" or something similar, than he would be incorrect; yet, as that is not the case and merely one letter is substituted by the apostrophe, he is not wrong.

All that aside, its pretty common forum slang that has existed forever.

just play against cassiopeia, it's infuriating

And what do Syndra and Anivia have in common? That's right! A point and click, easy to empower nuke!

CasterGilgamesh3 votes

i was just trying to say every mid lane mage that gets fed can kill someone....this got out of hand

IcyPepper1 votes

Point and click abilities aren't inherently toxic.

Otherwise every ADC ever would be considered horrible design.

NineTailedMystic1 votes

No, but like I stated Syndra's R and Anivia's E are easy to empower nukes. Point and Click abilities should be uncommon and reliable, but not nuclear devastation powerful. Alone, they're still decent abilities if not a little weak, but after being empowered with 1-2 balls let alone 4, or being nicked by Anivia Q or being in Anivia R for half a tick you just get vaporized.

You have to get chill status on someone for the E to work. It isn't point and click and it costs a ton of mana.

Anivia, you have to use your wall to push people in a direction you need. It's a lot harder than most mids.

TeCoolMage1 votes

this, you have to either be in melee range or manage your wall well to get a Q off, or rely on E R harass entirely.

Eventually you get to a point where you're either fed or not fed, and it determines whether you can 1v1 the enemy mid

But the enemy ADC is usually too dumb to buy Maw regardless of whether you're 0/20 or 20/0 even against sona/corki or something, so you can still get a few cheap kills bot lane, then get fed anyway

my only problem with anivia is that once she spawns her ult on you or god forbid she grazes you with her Q she can just point and click and you lost most of your health.Though riot fixed a few of these complaints for me adding the Chill and Freeze mechanic to her kit.So i cant really complain anymore.

To play anivia well, you have to master her wall and positioning. Its all about keeping them in the blizzard, not so much about E. Walling someone into your team or away from their tower while they are in your blizzard is a death sentence if they have no flash. She's incredibly slow, so if you need to backpeddle, it needs to be done very early. If you can really get the feel for the flow of team fights and separate your enemies, she's a beast. If you just rely on R E, you'll do mediocre burst and be useless in most situations. She's a control mage and a pusher. That's what she is good at.

It's funny cuz a 4 balls ult never killed anyone

Because a lot of people don't pay attention to what pros do nor do they take notes on why they do it. ;)

I try to do this, hell I even try to get my friends to do this when we are group of 5 on comms, but it seems people at my elo are simply not able to slow things down and simply play defensively

Teemo supp is fun

Malix Farwin1 votes

I don't think its a learning problem more so an anger issue. When people die they tend to be pissed and want to kill the person that killed them. What i find that i have to do most times is just take a deep breath farm and gank people who i can, i can always get my revenge when i am fed. Most people run on that CoD mentality where they need to kill the person that killed them. That is why once someone dies in low elo you start seeing a death train because they literally become more aggressive then more passive.

I noticed that neither the camera nor the shoutcasters really focus on those kind of things. They just talk about stats and wait for plays to happen so they can start shouting and jumping up and down in place whilst frantically shaking their hands about.

I only watched the New Player Stream (ft. Phreak!) for about 10 minutes, but I wonder if that stream talks about those things a little more.

The most impressive part of the World Finals was when it finally clicked to SKT that the only way to win was to kill the Kench first. And they did. Repeatedly.

once had a Jhin adc that chased enemy Nami across half the map when there were around 2030 minions piled up by the nearest turret. Clearly 1 kill is better than 2030 cs. And he didnt even get the kill.
