We haven't landed on VO for new Taric. We do want to keep him familiar in a fun/charming way, but we also don't want to go too hard on making him a joke character. As for that specific line, we've talked about keeping it or having a new line that serves as some kind of homage to it.

That's a innacurate of an analogy. I feel more like some of the characters went through one of the awful Hollywood reboots of old franchises that took a funny IP and made it super serious. At least I didn't have to pay for it though.

I do feel... wrong playing the new Gangplank. His kit is better and more fun sure. His personality is so different though that he is literally a whole new character. The only thing that tethers new GP to the old one personality-wise for me is Toy Soldier GP because it didn't change too much visually (really awesome work by whoever did that).

I appreciate the reworks of GP and Sion overall but I will always miss what they once were as characters.

I just got Taric and never really played him much before, but I really hope he does not get the Sion/GP personality treatment. It is great that there are still fun and silly characters. The crazy cast of the original champ pool is something that really made an impression on me when I joined. I would rather we get more serious characters released than we take older characters and make them super "grimdark" as Merxamers put it.

Well, to be honest, it's less of a joke and more of a reference.

It still should be kept in some way, shape, or form, because it does fit Taric's character, and it's quite possibly his most well-known and iconic line.

NO PLEASE DON'T KILL ANOTHER FUNNY CHARACTER. We want ridiculousness too. Obviously a large part of the roster must be somewhat believable, but please, it's fiction for a damn game, you can have unlikely things, in particular when the lore doesn't affect the gameplay and don't tell me it's to make it fit in the lore because that thing is all over the place and yet to be defined post-retcon. We want funny. We want stupid.

if this is his "joke", I don't think it would take away from him at all as being a serious character. I mean, its his joke. It should be hilarious. Now should everything about him be as ridiculous as that line? probably not. but this is like a huge part of what people love about taric. his outrageous gems.

If you keep him fun/charming/serious in all other aspects of his kit then I think people will take him seriously still. the line will not make him a "joke character"

But it's his actual "joke", and every champion has one. Why change it? It doesn't make the rest of his character any less serious -- unless Malzahar is also a joke character for burping and saying a voidling came out.

Riot has to know how important this is to his playstyle. I think they'll not only keep it, but buff it by making it global.

In fact, I'm betting the reason the rework isn't finished yet is simply because Riot hasn't quite ironed out the code that changes your background wallpaper to a picture of Taric every time he kills you.

they didnt fuck up sion. i know the old sion was fun but with the nieuw sion you can do so much more fun strategic plays. But they should make players possible to use his original skin too because both the reworked and the old skin are both pretty awsome.

Old sion looked awesome and sounded too. Also ad sion was my main, fuckin rito. New sion is good, but despite that they still DELETED a champion. IMAGINE OF YOUR MAIN WAS REMOVED FROM THE GAME. That's the point. There may be nothing left of Taric.

i like taric but besides his stun and in earlygame his heal isn't that usefull in most cases. so him getting rework might be something really exciting . but i agree what they did with sion was alitle but to much.
