If supports are supposed to scale with m.regen and mages with mana
If supports are supposed to scale with mana regen and mages with mana.
Shouldn't
and
give mana or are these to be considered support items and mages have no actual CDR items ?

That's a bastardization of 'stat binding.' It's a WIP theme that isn't hard and fast for classes.
mages have no actual CDR items
This. And it needs to stay like that, or it would be to easy for them to abuse Zed's extreme energy problems.

So Zed might have counterplay?
The horror.

i think he was being sarcastic.
I don't see how mages are supposed to "scale with mana" when the majoirty of AP builds have some mana regen item, blue buff gives increased mana regen, and players run mana regen runes. Most of the mana items either take time to scale (
,
,
) or are just a bad purchase for mages in general.

i've seen some riot post a while ago speaking about this thing, saying that the main need for each class was something like: tanks - resistences brusers - hp supports - m regen mages - mana etc
the explanation was that supports have higher base mana regeneration, so %regen items affect them the most, while mages have higher mana costs, for which they need a larger mana pool.
blue buff gives increased mana regen
blue buff is in the jungle, not mid lane, it is given to mages not only because they also give 10%CDR, but because the regen blue buff gives is so ridiculously high that virtually makes it so you can't run out of mana.
and players run mana regen runes.
not sure that they do, i bought them when i was just starting and haven't used them since then. also pro builds usually use armor oh hp yellows.
from the other point what i get is that more mana and cdr items are required.
No....u didn't get my point. I'm saying riot hasn't taken the necessary steps to make that apparent when mana regen is so meta and core atm for mages. The concept i'm trying to emphasize is that theres so much mana regen in the game for mages but so few options for flat mana.
that's my point....
