I keep seeing this and it seems to suck horribly but why is this a thing at all?

As a taliyah player, that's not a thing. That's probably even less common than AD soraka.

I've only seen one recent game where you played against an AD Tahliyah. "Keep seeing" would normally mean there is a pattern of people trying to play her AD, and I don't see that. She doesn't scale with AD and none of her abilities can do AD, unlike TF. This person is experimenting, and hopefully sooner or later that person will realize it does NOT work.

I didn't say I saw it recently.

I said I saw it. I suggested I've seen it more than once. To be more precise I've seen it at least 15 times. Not all of it was on my own account and some were on my PBE account
