Quinn ADC ?

Just started playing Quinn and I really like her and considering maining her in Season 7. Now I already play her Top but I need a secondary role to play her as and I was thinking about playing her as the bot lane marksman as my secondary. I'm curious, does she make a good AD Carry ? She is surprisingly good at clearing the jungle so playing her as a jungler is an option but I want to know if she would be better bot lane than the jungle.

Play her wherever you want. Unless you're diamond it's not really going to be a problem.

Some champs are just better in certain roles than others. Elo doesn't make that much of a difference. A Silver vs a Silver or a Bronze vs a Bronze is just as balanced as a Diamond facing a Diamond.

Yes, that's true, but unless you're playing in diamond or are in an LCS team, it still doesn't matter. She's playable at almost all roles and you shouldn't be running into any problems until said circumstances.

Actually that's not entirely true. My current main is Kayle and I have tried every possible build and played every role with her until I found what works best for her. What you say applies to Kayle. She can be played anywhere and for the most part, you have no problems but when you've played her as much as I have, you learn that she is much stronger in some roles than others. Can she be played in the Jungle ? Yes, but would I recommend it ? No. She makes a fine jungler but a far better top laner. Can she be played in the AD Carry role ? Yes. Can she do well there ? Yes. Would I recommend it ? Hell no. It's by far her worse role. The question is not whether it can work but is it optimal ?

Well, if you're trying to be optimal, why play her at all? Go play OPs like Ryze, Darius and Lee Sin or w/e role you're playing.

Her kit has stuff that I like. I don't particularly enjoy playing those champs you named.

she is no ADC anymore.

I would take her Top/Jungle because she can't really make any use out of her Ult as ADC

Yea, her ult. I was thinking the same thing. However, I've already beaten a number of super strong picks in top lane during the early game like Darius, Camille and more recently, Fiora. Very very few champions could completely shut down Darius and Fiora in the early game, Quinn seems to be one of these rare champions that can actually do it. It's due to her phenomenal early game damage. This is what makes me think that she might be able to play as an AD Carry. All viable marksmen being played in the AD carry role seem to have one thing in common, reliable trading patterns that yield very high damage even without items and reasonable mana costs for them. Think about Lucian in Season 6 and Vayne now, one mistake vs them and they can go in and take half your hp in one rotation. Caitlin's traps and her ult, very high damage without items.

After playing Quinn for a while, it seems she has the qualities necessary to survive in bot lane. If she can out-trade champions like Fiora, she certainly can stand toe to toe with other marksmen. But no one plays her as an AD carry and I'm curious as to why.

So besides her ultimate not being suitable for bot lane, is there any other reason she isn't played bot lane ?

the only reason why she can outtrade those champions is because she is Ranged.

against any other Ranged Champion, she usually loses.

My current main, Kayle is also ranged but Fiora and Darius totally dominate her in the early game. It isn't until Kayle scales into the mid game does she start becoming a threat. I was able to kill a Darius at level 4 with Quinn.

cause Quinn has early Damage and Kayle scales.

But still, Quinn only wins these matchups cause she can trade from Range with almost no risk.

She's good at top lane, but people don't take her bot because her early game is weaker than most ADCs due to her short range and hard time dealing with 2v2 lanes. She's also not the best at forcing pushes and taking down towers. It's like, why play Quinn bot, when playing Cait or Jinx is so much safer and easier, while having better late games? You're better off taking her mid, top, or jungle, where she can make use of her range advantage against melees and/or roam and gank. She was designed to be a roaming/skirmisher marksman, so you're better off playing to her strengths.

pretty much this but i think she would be a pretty bad jungle right now she has no AOE and the jungle pretty much requires AOE to clear raptors and drugs quick enough to be able to counter jungle effectively and tank quicker/path quicker.

she can be an ADC but remember her speciality is hunting and split-pushing, and the ult doesn't do much in lane and to be honest she is easily shut down in lane in a 2v2 environment, use her E and blind well enough though shell be strong

Personally I play her mid secondary, mid-quinn has some really good match-ups (vs Zed most notably) and lets you make good use of your ult for roams.

I tried her mid. Her roams were really good but for some reason she struggle a lot more against the mid lane picks than she does Top. She's a god in top lane but she feels meh in mid lane. I'll play it a bit more and see if anything pans out.

She struggles in certain match-ups for sure, but overall for mid quinn you mostly have to learn that summoner 14 isn't always your best summoner choice, knowing when to go summoner 3 or summoner 21 / summoner 7 makes most match-up manageable for Quinn (plus in really bad match-ups you just start item 2033 try to stay in lane til 6, then just try to push out and roam).

And you have to treat ranged vs ranged different than ranged vs melee of top lane, one of the main differences is using your E to punish missed skillshots early game like if pre-6 Ahri misses her charm you should punish with E into Auto into Q into auto if you can.

I think some others have said this but you can play her in the botlane, (i wouldnt do jungle because her ganks aren't the best). Now is she a top tier botlaner at the moment? no, but shes not bad either, so unless you're like some people, (like me), who only play meta champs, then go for it.

lol....I currently main Kayle, not exactly meta. I never liked maining popular or meta champs. I tend to pick a low pick rate champ and spam the fuck out of them until I learn every single thing about them. I did it with Akali, then Azir, Kayle and now I'm feeling Quinn. Every season it seems I like a new champ and play nothing but that champ.
