We seriously need more magic penetration options

It feels so wrong to only have liandry, void staff and magic pen boots for actual magic penetration. I had it so often lately, that a darius, poppy or some other champ just built spirit visage and could not be killed by magic damage anymore, either their shield has low cd or they heal the same amount up too quickly, because magic restistance is so strong right now.

Liandry gives 15 magic pen, magic pen boots give 15 and void staff ignores 35% of the magic res. of the enemy, doing quick math on a poppy with 200 mr shows, how void staff ignores 70 mr + your 30 magic pen is still 100 magic res. of the enemy that works real fine. It's seriously impossible for champions like Taliyah to break through that. It also feels like magic res. boots are stronger than they should be. They counter magic damage much more than your magic pen item could do.

The reason why magic pen is relatively hard to get is magic resist is relatively hard to build for tanks as well. Spirit Visage and Banshee's veil are really the only two options for a tank.

Ideally I would like to see a lot more penetration options as well as a lot more resistance options, similar to where armor is at the moment. I'll also add that Taliyah especially has a really tough time getting through tanks, I absolutely love Taliyah's kit but come late game you're essentially useless unless you've snowballed.

Yeah that's so true. But many tanks nowadays build spiritvisage/banshee and zz portal and magic resist boots, that's over 150 magic resist with their base mr, not to forget the runes..

Which is nothing for a Cassiopeia or Azir or a Ryze or a Syndra. Honestly the main issue you're experiencing is due to Taliyah. Your Q will demolish squishies, but come mid-late game, there really isn't much you can do to bruisers or tanks. At that point you've got to try to make picks with your ult and separate their team.

I'll also add that Taliyah desperately needs some buffs, which could help you out. In my opinion Taliyah's E should really do way more damage if it is activated with an enemy dash or by W'ing someone into it. It such a satisfying combo but the damage feels really lackluster.

The problem with that is. It ends up with the same problem as stacking armor pen. Because people won't view it as another option, rather another addition, so they can stack 4 items instead of 3.
