now it may sound a bit bias as a support main but i honestly think that yasuo is best as support in the current tank meta now before some one crucifies me for saying so let me explane my reasons for thinking this.

since yasuo got added in free roation iv given him a go in every roll and what iv found is that he fits much better as a support than he does as a top laner or in mid due to his ability to harass and deny harass/skillshots and his supriseing ammout of cc with his 3rd q and ult. now at this point i can immagen your thinking "sure in laneing he could be good but what about teamfights or late game?" well dureing team fights you can easly get into there back line or use your q unto ult to give your team enough time to get back to there carrys or give your team the time they need to run and in late game if you build right you can turn that game decideding team fight into your game winning team fight.

all and all yasuo can make a great support if the yasuo player isnt incompitent

recomened end game build in no peticular order item 3401 item 2045 item 3050 item 3143item 3190 item 3087

feel free to ask questions and please ignore all of my spelling errors

EDIT: i was extreamly sleep deprived when i made this only leaveing it up for the sake of discussion

I'd say no.

1st: Most items you'd want to grab as a support nitro-boost you to 40% CDR. Which is a stat Yasou uses less effectively than all other champions in LoL. That's Wind Wall and Wind Wall alone.

2nd: The meta. There are so many better champions you could use as a support. All Yasou has as a support is wind wall and an occasional Janna tornado, fallowed by a very unreliable ult. Janna has Janna tornadoes, can shield towers, an MS aura, a ranged attack, ignores unit collision, grants a +55 AD steroid to anyone on the team, a targeted slow, a massive AoE knockback, and the capacity to restore a fairly significant amount of health to herself and her entire team within a siege. Thresh and Nami, among other supports, boast similar supporting capabilities to Janna, and Yasou doesn't come anywhere close.

3rd:

Shiv is the only item here that really plays to Yasou's strengths. His damage isn't exactly Alistar's +90 AD or Taric's +70 AD as a tanky DPS deal, seeing as his x2 90% damage crit passive is completly useless with no crit.

Also: a typical player earns ~11,000 gold in an average game. Which works out to 1k in boots, and three 3k items. Or one major 3k item for early, mid, and late game phases.

And _less _on a support, seeing as you're the lowest income roll. If you're thinking of a full 6 item build without boots on a support, you're doing it wrong. One of the most important qualities of a good support is specifically being useful without items, and minimal items. You want 1~2 item builds as a support, not 6 item, no boot, major late-game builds.

And Yasou is very much a heavily farm-dependant, lackluster early, great with 6 items and no boots kind of champion - which is the exact opposite of a support.

i was extreamly sleep deprived when i wrote this whole this so the 6 item build never really came to mind. locket or omen can be swapped if a team lacks one or the other.but the idea with yasuo as a support is his laneing phase being able to poke your enemie laners to a point that they simply cant farm without the risk of being killed. i feel that hes in the same boat as lee sin when it comes to support you can harass your lane for days if you have mechanics down although in ranked it would be a terrible pick unless most of they're team is based off of hooks even then as you've said there are supports that do it better its just one of those supports you can play in normals and enjoy yourself
