Placements, just look and chill.

From everything that I've seen, placements will, for the most part, place you one division down. (E.G. from gold 3 to silver 3, Silver 5 to bronze 5 so on and so on.) Now I don't like it, and I know most of you don't either. I just want to ask riot the simple question. Why? Where as I don't know the answer which is why I'm making this post. But I would like to throw around some ideas while I'm here.

1: Climbing.

So let's say you play a lot of ranked, you've gotten to silver 2 and you fluctuate from silver 4 all the way to silver 1, but you can never seem to climb to gold. Now riot's noticed this, and in an effort to make you feel more rewarded they knock you down a few ranks so that you can actually do some more climbing. Thus you feel better about your own skill, and you just become more toxic... I mean accomplished.

2: Riot is trying to whittle down gold tier.

Weird I know, but apparently last season there were more players in gold 5 than there were players in bronze 5. Far fetched and stupid as it might sound, I wouldn't be too surprised. Who knows, maybe they're making gold/plat a higher skill requirement than before.

3: Trying to crack down on stagnant ranked players.

So league is a competitive game as I'm sure we're all aware. So perhaps they're trying to prevent people like myself from just playing provisionals, either going up or staying the same rank, and quitting ranked for the season.

4: Just a big middle finger to the community.

In all seriousness I just wanted a fourth reason, so I picked the salty one.

If possible guys, just upvote this, and let's see if Riot will just confirm or deny this ideas. Also feel free to post your own ideas down below. I'd love to see what you guys come up with, and who knows, I might just add it to the list.

EDIT: I'm not raging, I'm seriously putting what I think riot is doing.
