As long as Volibear changes are being looked at, how about a QoL change?

Have his Q ignore unit collision while he's running on all fours so he doesn't get caught up in the pathing scripts when trying to rush after his target.

That's not a QoL change. That's a straight up buff. I am aware that Voli desperately needs a pick-me-up, but that's more than a purely QoL change.

Agree. But he has more than enough room for buffs, specially mechanic ones like this (that doesn't involve increasing damage/defense numbers).

He actually doesn't have room for buffs. He's strong af when ahead and terrible when behind. Feast or famine champ with one of the most linear gameplay patterns in all of league.

Even Garen has more nuance.

Buffing bad design will only create another issue.

I love Volibear, I wish he was better. But I wish he was better with an updated kit, not his current one.

Quality of Life changes are things to make the champion smoother or easier to use without directly increasing their power. Ryze E bouncing if the target dies before it reaches them and triggering empowered W and Q when snapcast are things that make him more usable, and hell, even let him combo faster, but are still considered QoL changes.

Volibear getting caught by the game's pathing routines because of random minion movements is something that drastically inhibits a juggernaut that doesn't have the instant waveclear of Garen or the ranged pull of Darius.

Especially since the speed from Q disappears once he tosses his target, this would just make that aspect of the move smoother.

Getting rid of unit collision in ANY scenario is a flat buff. That is not quality of life.

I agree with you that UC fucks over juggernauts a lot, but don't try to make it seem like it isn't a buff.

QoL changes refer to minor changes that smooth out clunkiness in a kit.

These are things like changing the AA animation to better match when the damage comes out. Or changing Taliyah's cast paradigm for W.

Changes such as:

Reducing the startup/end lag on a basic attack animation Changing pet ai to not cancel AAs (we can dream) Granting a ghosting effect

are all straight buffs.

There's a reason the major Hecarim laning nerf (removed ghosting) was called a nerf and not a QoL change.

Or his Q leaves behind electrified ground something along the lines of singed adhesive or even slowed ground so rewards a successful flip

I can't wait to dust off my rune wars volibear skin

I think that his Roar knockback can now fuck over anyone that tries to get on top of him, champsYasuo Camille Hecarim Fiora etc, can get fucked over by him, allowing him to stop them and then merc them.
