Riot's balance team - made out of ADC mains?

I'm just asking, because that's the only explanation we have for the constant ADC-centered meta. It's obvious that Rito isn't trying to change this fact either.

So ya guys, what do you think?

Meddler is a support main so... yea

Must be playing pbe or internal testing because he hasnt played much on na accout since the level cap broke. and in the games he does play he doesnt contribute much to teamfighting according to his kills and his assists.

Never said he was a good support

doesnt seem like it either but his rank says something that is very adverse to his stats. Mostly that he gets lucky and carried in alot of his game

Well there is talk about something called "Riot MMR" among pro player when they go to another region to play worlds. Essentially it's a set base MMR given to the pro-players accounts for SoloQ so that they can get keep their skills sharp. I'm willing to place a bet that Meddler has a permanent "Riot MMR" on his account and he plays support because it's somewhat of a low maintenance role, especially if he's just spamming Janna/Nami and getting carried in the end.

I think part of the balancing trouble is that ADCs benefit so heavily from the increased quality of the support role due to its changes over the past year especially. It's probably going to take a bit longer 'till they figure out how to balance the AD role ^^" Hopefully soon though... but I hope after top lane QoL and AP items.

I definitely agree, but ADCs have been dominating even since before support itemization was buffed.

I don't quite agree there. They had their place as the late-game insurance, yes, but the mage or bruiser could bend the game early/mid back then. The support buffs were really good for the support role but they indirectly catapult the AD into "having 5 items" (support is carrying 2 of them lol) during the mid-game now.

they also benefit from the fact that their itemization is literally the cheapest of all the carry classes, and scales the hardest.

2600 gold for a completed zeal item, when they should cost at least 2800 to 3000 gold.

another problem is that they can just skip the expensive lifesteal items these days and go straight to infinity edge + double zeal, since they have so much sustain from their supports, and soon the returning warlords, they can get away with more greedy builds.

either we need the old item 3075 with 30% damage reflection back, that heavily punished these greedy 0 lifesteal builds, or zeal items need an even further cost increase to 3100 to 3200 gold. just to push marksmen power spikes out even further to be on par with bruiser and mage items in cost.

I agree with the cost difference, definitely. They have a buddy in their lane specifically to enable access to more stable farm.

It was probably ok back in the day for static to be cheaper (since it was basically the loosing team's ADC's PD) but now that it has its passive scale and stack with Rapid Firecannon it's a bit much. Ahhh, good 'ol BT rush.

Eh, hate it or love, they have to be relevant. I just feel like tanks should be able to survive for longer agasnt them in teamfights.

It also wouldn't be as bad if mages could do their jobs slightly better at deleting them.

Atm we need new Ap itemization.

ADCs used to be late game champions. Now they become late game with item 3006 item 3031 item 3087

Making Marksmen truly optional would require massive systemic changes to Summoner's Rift that the community would without a doubt throw a shit-fit over.

Dominion had optional Marksmen, for example. But no one played it.

i don't know what are you talking about, the adc's are weaker than before, everything one shoots them, the only way to survive as an adc is having a sustain support like (Lulu, nami, sona) if you have a support like fiddle because the guy who got filled support don't like to play a real support, otherwise you are useless lol.

Even in my games the both adc's are getting like 10 deaths and being useless for both teams because the supports play mages or troll supports that deals more damage than them LOL

So, in most cases the adc's are useless if they don't have luck to have a real support player.

In my experience, in the whole preseason, i have only seen an adc that beated our entire team with a lulu with infinite shields and speed boost for him.
