Ivern Tips And Tricks
So, I haven't played Ivern, but from watching video's. I think you guys are kinda doing it wrong.
I think first and foremost, you should max W 2nd, maybe even first. Lots are saying "he does no damage". Well, maxing E is not his damage ability really. It's more so a shield that detonates and explodes giving a slow to the enemy.
His W is a harass tool which increases his range, gives him more bonus damage inside brushes. So maxing that first, or 2nd depending on however you want to do it will give him a lot more damage. Maxing it first wouldn't be the worse thing in the world, think about it. if you gank and can land a Q/root, you can dash to them, drop a brush down and start auto attacking them in the bush. You will get multiple auto's off, meaning you'd deal more damage by maxing this first oppose to landing a Q just for x1 damage and having to wait for the cooldown.
So max W first, or 2nd at least, do not max E until last.
Also, whenever you smite the camp, that instantly clears the camp for XP/buffs. If your ally is near, they can also get a buff, or even if you have smite up, and are away from the camp but have it fully groomed, they can like click, and I think it somehow automatically uses a smite from you even if you're not near, and gives your laner a buff, and stuff, also, you'll get the buff too.
My tip is start on the enemy side if you can cause of course you get a free smite when the game starts. So you can instantly smite one of the camps depending on your choice without having to wait for the camp to be groomed, and you got yourself free xp, and a buff.
His ultimate is good for tower diving.
Ok, that's about all the tips I have for now, and be sure to build AP on him, cause of course he's going to do no damage if you don't build AP. In fact, he's borderline useless as a jungler if you don't build AP, and just tank. If anything, build tanky AP items like ROA, and what not if you want some tankiness, but make sure you got AP.
I see so many youtubers like Redmercy and stuff maxing E second. Do not do that.
Overall, he's really unique and different, going to take everyone time to get used to him, but this is my advice for him. Personally, I say if they make any changes to his kit, his E could go and be replaced with maybe a different offensive ability, and that shield could go as an added bonus somewhere else on his kit. Maybe his Q dash gives him a shield and slows the enemy after he dashes or something. Other than that, he seems fine, just not being maxed properly yet.
Maxing E does give him some wave clear tho, but don't max it first unless you're going to lane with him.
