So I was playing malzahar vs ekk with qss

Basically what happened was I was pretty far behind and I was against an Elko mid. I was trying to play smart. First I ulted him for my Yi then he towerdived me and I ulted and ignited him and he was so annoyed about my ult that he bought a qss to purge the suppress. What I want do know is if they purge the suppress does the Lazer beam still do damage.

The tether will continue to do damage if you don't cancel it, they don't displace you or get out of range.
