My Most Hated Types Of Players

The OP Carry Lords of the Top Lane

Those who go to pick some niche pick like yasuo top without any tanks or knockups on the team (then yasuo gets banned) and go directly to some other glass-cannon hit-or-miss champion like Vayne top. Then they usually proceed to feed and don't participate in the game until 30mins in and blame the rest of the team for the loss. Bonus points if it's a normal and so they just say "it's just a norms guys, it's ok" the whole game. Double bonus points if they were cocky enough to take ignite into a losing matchup, feed, and lose out on all that roam/map pressure/pushing potential...and for what? The chance to squeeze a couple more kills from your lane?

Personally, these types of players are my pet peeve. Their selfishness and pride lose us the game because they wanted to pick some extreme pick instead of fitting the team comp and actually helping the rest of the team. I've also noticed a trend that these players really simply don't play any non-carry top laners as they will switch from yasuo to vayne to tryndamere or whatever carry pick they want, and often get tilted if you simply ask "yo ___ , would you mind picking a better peel/tank for our team up there?"

Anyways, sorry about the rant, these guys just are pretty much the exact opposite of my playertype which is why I don't like them

My most hated types of players are players who don't let me pick whatever champion I want in whatever role I want.

Go ahead with that juicy AP Renekton support fam :^)

My issue is that the player doesn't even consider anything other than "I want to play this champion" and ends up throwing the match due to their selfishness. It is a team game and fitting the team's comp is a pretty expected thing to do

Problem with that is, every time someone gets stuck with the "fit the team's comp" role, 100% of the time they have to either support or play a tanky top laner. And almost no one enjoys playing support or tanky top laners (by "tanky top laners" I mean top laners that have to go full tank items or risk being utterly useless all game). Being little more than a glorified meatshield is not exciting gameplay. So naturally everyone picks glass cannon top laners or AP supports like Brand/Vel'koz/Annie.

It's the same reason why western countries encourage immigration so much: the immigrants get stuck with all the jobs no one here wants to do, like garbage collection, or janitorial work, or fast food. Now think about it: would you WILLINGLY take a job in the service industry (i.e. support/tanky top laner) when you're also offered a cushy, well-paying middle-management position (i.e. mid, assassin jungle, ADC) at the same time? I think not. The problem is, if everyone on the team thinks this way, the role never gets filled and/or the role goes to someone who hates it with a fiery passion and complains or trolls all game.

I think asking a player to pick to the comp, is asking a player to fulfill a team need that they themselves may be suboptimal at doing.

You are asking them to sacrifice whatever proficiency they may have with a specific champion of their choosing, and instead, pick a champion they might not be entirely familiar or good with.

I don't like telling players to play specific champions unless they are open to it. Most players will pick the champions they are best with in ranked games.

Hands down, I want the player to choose their best champion, or at least a champion they play frequently in a ranked match.

Yes, there are champions I don't like, but I still rather let the individual choose a champion on their own and not think about team composition. The only time I may say something regarding the comp is if we are "all AD" or "all AP".

You are a team for one game, and are unlikely to have interactions afterwards. You aren't coordinated enough to even pick a comp. Let them play their champion, and as long as it isn't something crazy off meta like Gnar support things will probably work out for the best.

If you don't agree with the composition or the champion chosen for the role, just dodge. I do it all the time when their are trolls.
