I realized a huge trend with the newly released champions.

And it's quite disgusting and obvious as to why. All targeted to pro play.

10 out of the 12 champions released have some sort of way to impact the game from very very far away, or from paths that are not expected. Kaisa: her W has a very long range and her ult is a long range blink. 1-2 screens away. Zoe: Her Q, combined with R and maybe a W flash, can hit from 1-2 screens away. Ornn: Huge engage from 1-2 screens away. Kayn: Incredible pathing options, rendering a lot of warding useless. Rakan: Can double dash to allies with a relatively good range, and then dash with his W for a knock up. 3 DASHES. Camille: 2 Dashes on her E, one untargetability / dash on her R. Can engage off screen. Kled: Sion-like R, semi-global. Taliyah: Twisted Fate - like, semi global. Aurelion Sol: Similarly to Kayn, ignores terrain and gets MS boosts, making rotations extremely easy. Jhin: W, same as Kaisa, and his R has even bigger range and impact.

The only ones in between those releases are Ivern and Xayah who do not have such an ability. Xayah can technically use her E to call some feathers from a long distance, but I'll disregard that.

Too many champions have ways to stay incredibly safe. Zoe has insurance of returning to her original R. Kayn can pass terrain. Kaisa becomes invisible, alongside her R. Ornn has his Unstoppable, along with a far shield, on his W. Xayah R, Camille R, Kled un-mount untargetability etc.

Way too many champions that have semi-global abilities, or have ways to close distance very very well, while also being quite safe with untargetability or invisibility.

Pyke is coming up soon, and he's getting a good camouflage with an MS boost (closes distance really well), and a dash on his E, that is also an occasional stun. His R's are also blinks, which also have quite big range. So, a Pyke can come from the dragon pit all the way to the mid lane unseen, then dash on top of you with his E and blink to you with his R. Why the fuck is there so much mobility and safety?

I understand pro plays needs these elements of surprise. Making a proactive play by bringing multiple people in a fight makes for exciting plays and snowbally games, but you gotta cool down a bit. How about a noob-friendly champion, or a simpler champion, like Kindred? No global shit, no untargetability. His R is honestly so cool, because it can be used by both teams and has the healing effect on both teams as well. Very good design. Why does everything have to have some sort of global element to it?
