The game is burning down like a london bridge

The things that should be done but are not:

  1. Remove duo queue from ranked games - basically the most unfair and uneven form of play is duoQ. Even bad players can win if they communicate a lot. Solo players are at a disadvantage and have to count on a coin flip. I am a duo player btw.

  2. Maintain the damn client - client is so buggy that it breaks every now and then. Also the problem with the friend list just vanishing wasn't fixed yet. Instead Riot gave us a solution how to fix it ourselves.

  3. Actually balance the game - when I look at patch notes and read them and I see a nerf, I think "that is not why the champion is broken right now". They nerf things that are not the problem and then after some time the champion falls into tier 5 for some reason. The reason is simple, you just didn't nerf the right thing. The thing that made him broken at that exact time.

  4. Stop creating gimmicky and edgy champions that are difficult to balance - I mean, we have enough champions in the game to begin with, we don't need more. Also immobile champions are in the shitter right now, because of mobile champions and overall high damage in the game.

  5. Stop tuning up stats for new champions - Sett came out and was broken, Aphelios came out and was broken, Zoe came out and was broken and Senna came out and was broken. Can you make them weak first and then slowly balance them?

  6. Stop adding true damage and %health damage to new champions - we have enough of anti-tanks in the game to ruin tanks completely. Nobody even plays them except for Leona and Thresh and Nauthilus. As a marksman player I don't even have anybody to hide behind, because everybody plays mages and assassins.

  7. Seriously stop balancing solely around damage - there is too much damage in the game and in every patch notes I see Riot just adding or substracting some damage from champions. Could you kindly not buff damage, just nerf it and focus on other stats, for example mr and armour that we actually have 26 of, when we need at least 30?

  8. Put as much effort on new items as you do on new champions - some items are really cool but then there are some that are uninspired. Items that add nothing but more damage.

  9. Stop compensating for nerfs - nerfs are nerfs, they exist because a champion is too powerful, so he does not need a compensation.

  10. Stop making players wait months, or even years for reworks - you focus so hard on new champions that old champions have to wait seasons for reworks. There are so many champions that need a rework because they just cannot adapt to this high mobility + high damage meta. Focus on them. We don't need more champions, we already have 148 of them and people only play 1-3 champions.

  11. Place Iron above Bronze - it makes absolutelly no sense that Iron is below Bronze. Iron is a better metal than Bronze. Also I would prefer the promo to be removed, since it all works on MMR anyways. Ranks can stay but promo is additional games that give you nothing else than test you if you can advance to another rank. Usually promo is lost because in 3 games, 1-2 can be inted or trolled by somebody and then you just need to try again. It is like a buttleneck in cultivation, but worse, because it depends on other players.

  12. Rework the damn honor system and make it interactive - It can quickly go down and slowly go up. There is no reason to get better and stop flaming and inting if you will stay on honor 0 the whole time anyways. It doesn't motivate people to be better, it only punishes them for doing the wrong thing and that is not how rehabilitation works. Also we should be able to honor our enemies, since they sometimes deserve it and that honor is probably the fairiest one, since it is our enemy and we still want to honor that guy.

  13. Autofill - it doesn't work in this season. In duoQ both of us get autofill at the same time, so our team has 2 or maybe even 3 autofill players and we are silver/gold elo. I must say that it worked somewhat in S9, but now it is certainly not working properly. In S9 such cases were rare, really rare. In S10 I had this case in 4 matches already in 1 week. I played a lot in duoQ and every autofill was a double autofill. We were autofilled 4 times, and all of them were double autofill. And from what I can see, it is not only me and my friend that get this double autofill insanity, but other players as well, since in my games people are yelling that they get double autofilled when we meet another duoQ pair.

Delete Akali

They don't nerf what is making the champion too strong because they believe that nerfing around the problem allows the champion to stay relevant by taking away strength elsewhere. Instead, what they are doing is setting up the champion to fail later when they eventually nerf what the problem actually is. Since the champion has been nerfed to hell and back, they are now unviable. It's stupid, it doesn't work, and they seriously just need to fucking deal with what the problem actually is.

I seriously just need to make a very short tl;dr of my points to copy and paste whenever I see these posts.

Runes reforged are half the damage issue, it forced damage into every option and MASSIVELY increased the importance of runes+masteries. They even stated it in the patch notes that this was the intent and nobody said anything. Now they are reaping what they sow and are acting like they need to nerf champions for the artificially forced damage.

Riot has proven they don't care about the casual side of the game by only balancing on the competitive scene, which in almost 100% of the cases, are nowhere near the same as what the other 99.99% of players need. Some champions are just better in pro play and need to be gutted to extremely low winrates to be in the game like Rakan, Kalista, Azir, etc... while some champions need to be nerfed hard for casual play like Qiyana, Caitlyn, Kha Zix, etc... but Riot don't give a fuck and let these things exist because they aren't as big in pro play.

They also strayed away from their old ideals of things like releasing champions and letting the players decide where they should go, and letting players define the meta. Whenever something interesting and fun comes out like Sona+Taric, they try their hardest to remove it from the game instead of just fixing what's broken. Taric was a big problem with funelling + Yi and the Taric+Sona bot lane, maybe just fix Taric? Nah how about removing mechanics from the game to keep him the way he is.

Riot has an extreme emphasis on trying to make money off their game. They make so much fucking money off the game already and were in a very good spot until they started making changes that affected the game itself like buffing champions before releasing skins, reworking champions to an unhealthy but fun to play state, etc...

I see shit like Akali and instantly want to quit playing the game. All the marketable champions that pander to certain demographics COUGH COUGH WEEBS are so exhausting to see in 90% of my games I played. Ban Yasuo because he counters my favourite champions with windwall and the fact he beats me early but outscales me late and the enemy just picks one of the other 10 champions that are just as cancer like Akali, Veigar, Diana, Fizz, Katarina, Orianna, Qiyana, Talon, Syndra, and Vladimir. This problem is 10x worse for top lane and I genuinely feel bad for the few top laners out there. I don't keep up with their complaining and such, but when I played it, it was fucking horrible.

Stop making players wait months, or even years for reworks

I completely disagree, and I firmly believe large reworks are extremely unhealthy for the game, balance and health-wise.

When people say rework, they immediately think of something like Mordekaiser or Akali that change almost the entire champion. These are the bad reworks and almost every single rework has been a complete failure. Some examples: Akali, Mordekaiser, Kayle, Ryze, Alistar, Urgot, Galio, Yorick, Taric, Fiora, Graves, Evelyn, etc...

Many of these champions had issues and needed to be fixed, I 100% agree with this. A proper change is addressing their issues and fixing them, not just dragging the champion into the recycle bin and starting over. Riot disregard the players and do these type of changes and then wonder why those mains quit playing them as if they didn't just remove a character from the game.

The perfect reworks are the ones that only slightly alter a champion to fix what was making them unhealthy for the game by directly targetting their issues.

Diana is a good example. I would say when they first reworked her she was a little on the strong side with ardent censor and her passive was too good, but other than that they did a very good job of rerouting her damage to less burst and more sustain damage, while also keeping her core gameplay for the people that mained her.

Another good example is Karma. She had some things players didn't like and Riot fixed them without just throwing the champions in the trashcan and starting over.

Reworks like Sion who, in many people's opinions weren't terrible, don't take into consideration the fact that they could have just released the new rework as a new champion, instead of deleting one and taking the name. Poppy, Warwick, Zac, Maokai, Skarner.

I am missing a bunch more but I really don't feel like continuing this anymore. Just click my name and look at my comments/discussions if you want to.

  1. Place Iron above Bronze - it makes absolutelly no sense that Iron is below Bronze. Iron is a better metal than Bronze.

iron is one of the most common elements in the universe because the iron atom is the most stable with the highest binding energy out of all elements on the periodic table.

as such it is not only worth less but bronze is also a better matierial than raw iron.

iron corrodes very fast and is brittle and a terrible material without refining it into steel.

Shiroyashayami2/9/2020, 11:25:23 AM7 votes

To the 2nd point, the solution is somewhere out there, I can't find it since Riot literally didn't show it in any way to us. They just posted it somewhere and you have to find it yourself. The solution is basically 1. Remove LOL and Install it again 2. Change your pc time to auto and synchronise it with the time in the world. The second part doesn't really help, but the first part probably does and I am not going to uninstall the game just because they fucked up.

BlueAirplane2/9/2020, 2:05:37 PM6 votes

I agree all, and I highly agree with removing duos and promotions.

what is the point of promotions when you're already facing opponents that are higher ranks than you because of MMR. Also removing duos will benefit people in so many ways..

Troll Slaiyer2/9/2020, 5:02:53 PM6 votes

all the super old champs that riot wont touch for another 10 years should get the ezreal treatment. its so sad playing udyr or skarner with those clunky old animations. maybe hold off on the next akali and lux skins to make time for it?

What's really sad is that the majority of these can be explained by corporate greed.

Patch by patch, season by season, it's more and more apparent Riot is run by businessmen rather than by players/gamers like it used to be.

Two week suspension for this account last night, first offence, and I genuinely give zero shits because if people who flame non-stop but not in the EXACT way the system picks it up don't get punished, exactly why should I have any care in the world to even TRY being a (cough)"reformed"(cough) player? These ego-tripping narcissists, total psychopaths, get to continue on antagonizing people so their VICTIMS get banned while I honestly am hoping one day I lose what's left of my conscience and start pruning the population because society as a whole needs to be purged. Preferably in the billions. Makes me want to travel to China, deliberately infect myself with the Corona Virus, then travel as many places as possible in the world spreading it. I don't care if I die; hedging my bets to make sure as many chances there are to infect people who are or will inevitably come into prolonged contact with the worst type of people who are nothing more than cockroaches on this world is an incredulously small price to pay for a life I don't want to live anyway. Already have to watch my mom slowly die from terminal cancer; may as well take as many asswipes out with me as I can.

TrundleSmashGud2/9/2020, 8:59:50 PM4 votes

I hope when China finally withdraws League from every region but China, it withers into nothing more than a wannabe mobile game that has zero actual care put into it.

BigFBear2/9/2020, 1:41:43 PM3 votes

They will never delete duo queue because they know that there are a LOT of duos and they need them for a stable queue time. If ALL the duos wouldn't play solo/duo anymore the queue time would increase dramatically I guess. Just a guess.

mirAcIe2/10/2020, 9:07:48 AM3 votes

The game will never be balanced the same way it was balanced in season 4 or so. We're in the Tencent era of zero counterplay, where champions compete for the spot of at the top the zero counterplay list. Everyone is an assassin with limitless mobility, utility, tankiness and damage. Don't have it? Weak champion.

Kadexe2/9/2020, 9:08:31 PM3 votes

How is this any different from the last 9,000 "League is dying" posts in the last 10 years?

Dabbitz2/9/2020, 9:53:41 PM3 votes

i agree. my biggest thing in this game is the toxicity. I seriously delete this game often after some of the evil shit people say. I make money and I'm boycotting spending a damn dime on anything riot. This game is more frustrating than fun to play.

You can’t even play top anymore The best pic is a Support Which makes sense because the ADc is the most important character on the team Which is why they are closest to the dragon Which is why jungles dive 1v5 for dragon

I don’t think riot cares anymore...

PaladinNO2/10/2020, 3:16:14 PM3 votes

The "TL;DR" would be: Rito Gem (who once upon a time actually cared about the players) -> Tencent Holding -> China -> E-sports.

When did they sell out the last of their shares? Around 2015? And when did the "juggernaut patch" happen again? Season 5? Coincidence?

And when did the game take a notable hit and ever since steadily be pointed fingers at for having too much damage? And how did that affect the overall gameplay and match lengths? And how is the internet cafe pay-per-hour gaming society going in China?

Best we can do now is flood Ebay with account ads and get back what we can of what we have spent over the years (mine will be up soon).

I seriously don't think they even can fix the game by now without doing a COMPLETE rework of both the client (which was praised as being "built from the ground-up" btw.) and the game engine itself. And frankly, I don't think they are interested in sinking that kind of money into this game now.

Release some skins, let the whales get their fill and let the game die. Besides, who would care? They got more games now, which, when they are ready, will be filled with people finally having had enough of this one.

There were a lot of items back then and a lot of strategical items as well. But Riot removed them because... no one actually knows why. The theory could be that it's easier to balance the game with less items but then I wonder why the game is less balanced now.

MaskedMadness2/9/2020, 7:03:35 PM2 votes

i strongly agree with 12. i was once reset to 0 honor when being at 5 or 4 for one mishap which wasnt even bad. and i think i only managed to get to like honor 2 level 3 before season end. and also lots of my team honors arent even genuine i just honor for the progress. but ive had many enemies that i would wholeheartedly honor.

DODGEORLOSE2/9/2020, 5:34:01 PM1 votes

The game is burning down, yet you're still playing it.

GreenLore2/10/2020, 9:00:07 AM1 votes

I agree with most of your points(especially number 10, as Riot has announced to focus more on new champs this year, even though we still need tons of reworks), but there are a few where I disagree: 4: Creating gimmicky champs is kinda inevitable at this point. We have so many champions in the game already, its getting rather difficult to make a champ feel unique among the roster without making them gimmicky. Though of course there is a limit to everything, Aphelios went too far in terms of gimmickness.

11: The reason why iron is below bronze is because the typical medal system awards bronze for 3rd place, then silver for 2nd and then gold for 1st. Iron being below bronze basically signals "you didn't get any price at all". Granted the logic behind platinum and diamond is that they are more valuable than gold, but I think it'd be really confusing for them to break up the bronze, silver, gold row.
