I dont understand the squishy top disease

I don't really have a problem with people that take Yasuo top, or Teemo top, or even the occasional ADC top. However, I do have a problem when you knowingly pick a squishy champion into a tank. I don't understand this mentality, you are putting your team at such a disadvantage unless you win the game in under 25 minutes. I also have a huge problem when say, your teams jungle picks a squishy champion (Kha, Rengar, Lee) and you, with that information, take a squishy top against a cc/tanky top like trundle/mao/Darius. More so than not, like 6-7 out of 10 of my games, I am dealt with the hand that has the squishy top, and it completely screws my game more often than not. Why can't you guys take ranked seriously? Last season and the season before that, all there were was cookie cutter meta comps with a tank and stuff, now we have all this squishy stuff going on. I just wished people would take ranked more seriously instead of a glorified normal game and pick things that would give them a higher win rate than one trick ponying a teemo or taking has top because they feel like it.

If my team has a tanky jungle and support, I'm free to go full damage Rengar top if I want to.

If I never played Kayle top I'd still be struggling in B5. Fuck what the team needs, I'm picking someone to carry. Tanks need carries that do damage. In Bronze your carries are always 0-5 with no finished items and 40 cs by 25 minutes. Fuck that shit.

they're strictly trying to win early game (while also putting you down for longer) and cause enough havoc for your back line to just not care about you outscaling them or being more useful than they would ever be. in order for you to be useful you have to keep your carries alive but what good are you when your carries are already dead because they are just that strong.

Most of the time, people that take squishy tops believe they can snowball or cheese early. They want to be able to carry based on how behind the enemy top laner is and try to 2v1 the top/jungler. Sometimes it works out but a smart opponent will always counter pick a tank or something in general thats hard to cheese and only safe farms to team fight. For example, teemo and other top laners with no cc can be utterly useless in team fights unless they can get their damage off. People don't like playing tanks on the other hand because if their team feeds and they build to counter their enemy laner and the fed carry on the enemy team is the opposite of what they're building, the tank is most likely going to be useless. For example, a Malphite can go against a riven in lane for the first 10-15 minutes and be safe farming, giving up cs, and respecting riven's early game who happens to have ignite. Soon after Malphite finishes his first armor item, typically sunfire or frozen heart against an ad top, the ap laner gets ahead from maybe the first kill or first blood they got. Now instead of a 1/0 or 2/0 ap caster, its a 4/0 or 5/0 who is playng well and has the damage spike from being fed and malphite has 0 mr for his riven lane. Its up to how much trust you have in your ability to carry as a squishy or tank. For example, I play Riven top with ignite quite often and typically I win lane but every since I got my new mouse, its harder to properly animation cancel as fast as I used to, and now i'd rather play irelia who can trade/sustain and carry with her tanky late game. If an enemy makes the mistakes of picking any ad top, such as yasuo or riven, I automatically pick nautilus because with corruptons, Nautilus has one of the strongest level 1s in the top lane, with the exception of darius and maybe fiora with ignite. Its very hard for a riven to kill you after you survive the early 1-6 and finally finish your sunfire if you've been farming/trading decently. So people like to try to cheese carry or play tanks to carry team fights and be the dependable tank on engaging or peeling. I really like Nautilus top personally for the tankiness/damage he has with iceborn and his build is situational depending on the enemy team.
