Unpopular league opinions
DISCLAIMER: Do. Not. Read this post if you are going to attack me for just disagreeing with you. I called it "unpopular opinions" for a reason.
1: Assassins 100-0ing people is okay. It's literally their job to burst the squishies. Why do people get so triggered by a 5/0 LeBlanc, talon, etc killing them when they bought 0 defensive items against them and were alone/without their team?
2: Toplane does not have 0 impact on the game. Idk how people say this when a 7/0 camille/irelia/jarvan etc is literally game over for your team. Toplane does not impact the game any less than midlane does and people aren't complaining about midlane having no effect.
3: Thresh is not the epitome of balance and skill expression. Seriously if this champion lands one hook on your botlane, the lane is over. You cannot win it past that point unless you have morg, lulu, or your jungler camps you.
4: Being a noob-friendly champion doesn't make them "braindead." Clear examples of this:
. All of these champions, yes, have very low skill floors, but they come with very high skill ceilings (annie is debatable.) Everything in Lux's kit is a skillshot, Soraka is heavily punished by poor positioning, Ashe is one of the most "strategic" champions in the game, and Annie has a very short range and is reliant on timing. Stop calling them "braindead champions" just because they are easy for beginners to pick up and do well with.
5: Ryze does not deserve all the attention he is getting just because he has "potential." There are so many champions who could use reworks way more than Ryze and have way better "potential" (if that even means anything) than Ryze. Stop defending him, he is a shit design.
6: LotPK (poro king) and Ascension were not "every single week" when RGM's were a thing. I dont know where this meme originated from, but Legend of the Poro King (LotPK) and Ascension were not by any means "always the RGM". Ascension is somewhat debatable but LotPK we saw like 3 times in total last year and people needed to shut up about it.
7: There is not too much CC in the game, there is just too much on specific champions. There is not too much CC in this game by any means. Some champions just have way too much CC for how easy they can apply and stack it. Example:
, who just have to press one button and instantly the enemy cannot do anything for like 3–4 seconds. Non Example:
, who have to land multiple abilities in a row to cc someone, or give up damage for their CC.
8: Movement-Speed boosts ARE a form of mobility, with some exceptions. Idk why people only count dashes/blinks/teleports etc as forms of mobility, but movement speed boosts ARE a form of mobility and in some cases they are even more effective than dashes. Some exceptions, however, are
and
supports who need to be out-of-combat for their boosts.
9: Anivia is overpowered. This one is pretty debatable but i just think she has way too much burst for how much DoT her ult provides, as well as her being basically unkillable in the early game while scaling really hard into the lategame.
10: Zoe is not a horrible champion design, she just has an overloaded (NOT overpowered) kit. Imo Zoe was never a bad champion design, she was actually really creative, fun, and had great skill expression. However, she just has way too much stuff in her kit which makes her incredibly unfun to play against. Her ult range is pretty dumb for it's nonexistent cooldown and gaurunteed safety, her bubble is too fast for how it basically gauruntees your death, and her Q has way too much burst for how much the rest of her kit compliments it.
11: Syndra should be kept unviable until she gets a power-shift from her ultimate to the rest of her kit. Self-explanatory.
That's the end of my unpopular opinions list. Don't attack me just because you disagree with something that is literally labeled "unpopular opinions." Thanks for reading.
