The score was 2 to 8 at 10 mins when the team of diamonds/masters decided to open.
I think it's fair to say snowballing is in a pretty healthy state

Open mid = Let's get this over with so I can get back my LP in the next game.
I have made comebacks from 1-14 so why do people in diamond open?
That is my issue right now with league. I've been playing normals to try and have the fun back and try new champions, but even then it's no fun when we're stomping or being stomped because of how bad the snowballing has become..
They didn't open simply because the score was 2-8. They opened because they score was 2-8 when they were playing against multiple hard snowballing champions. When both Quinn and Leblanc get fed early; the game is over. They know that and choose to open.
I've been in diamond last season and I can tell you this: even there, people can throw hard when they are ahead. I've lost count of the amount of games I've won where the enemy team had the lead and started throwing. Especially in 30 minutes or later, where one mistake can lead to a lost inhibitor/baron/game. So don't give up even when you are behind. Some people might disagree with this, but I prefer trying to find a way to turn the game around instead of losing. Because the average diamond player wins 15-17 lp and loses 20-22.
Hey, remember the 45 minute meta where it didn't matter what you did early because one teamfight could mean you win the game?
That shit wasn't fun either when you played 9/10 teamfights well but the last one was GG.
That stuff was happening back in season 4....
OMG I really wish the ass teams I get would understand this. My team feeds and they never want to FF. It's infuriating. I'm glad there's actually an elo where people know when to ff a clearly lost game.
Personally i think you should play until your nexus is taken unless otherwise if your team mates (even 1) has given up. The lead has to be substantial otherwise a comeback is more than possible. It's alot more sportman like if you play till the end and then learn from your mistakes or your allies mistakes.
they opened because their comp was worse and they lost early, not because of snowballing
Would the upcoming damage nerfs and tower fb gold reduction help with this or are there other factors?
