(X Champion) is so much more fun to fight against since their rework!!!!!!!

EmollientNut0··5 votes·881 views

I've been seeing that be said about a lot of reworked champs for a while now. Let me rephrase that thought for you so it's a bit more direct.

"I'm enjoying beating (X champion) all the time now. It's really convenient to me that an entire player base of mains for that champion are alienated. The new players are dead fish using mechanics they don't understand, and the champ's old players stumble around using champs they haven't mastered while feeling like exiles (Riven). This has done wonders for my win rate! "

i hate all champions equally, regardless of rework or not

EmollientNut01 votes

But how could you hate someone so reliably underperforming as Yorick? Poor little ghoulie

Athenes Lulu4 votes

Well, it's not like OP is wrong, because he isn't.

EmollientNut01 votes

I seriously don't understand people saying the statement in the title, it's almost insulting. Who the fuck cares how much you enjoy fighting MY champion?

(Examples of not fun to fight champs: Zed Fiora Kalista Udyr Volibear)

The only reason you'd enjoy fighting a champion is because you consistently beat them.

Athenes Lulu1 votes

Sounds like they wanna look and feel good about themselves. Eventually when players learn about the reworked form... won't be the same.

You know, like Soraka. Remember right after her rework people thought she was garbage?

Julius Evola2 votes

haha pretty much. Jesus I hate the Fiora rework.

Julius Evola2 votes

To be fair, I REALLY liked the Sion rework. (That was the only one that wasn't complete trash) Lol@Ryze. Cassio, Graves, Gangplank.

EcchiOtakuTM1 votes

Woah grave's rework wasn't trash at all o.o

EmollientNut01 votes

I'm leaning towards agreeing on his Cass point for sure. They basically just bound a triggered autoattack to a button and severely weakend the poison that distinguished her. [slayer-pantheon-popcorn]

EmollientNut01 votes

I did like Sion's rework a lot(before the nerf train hit the pain train), however I still feel it's pretty unfair for someone's main champion to be completely scrapped like that. RIP Shen's Vorpal blade. </3

EcchiOtakuTM1 votes

TBH shen is an amazing rework the only issue I have as a long time shen player is they didn't allow his W to move the sword in a 700 range. I don't really care about the sustain/team healing but he has no range with the lost of vorpal and has to be in melee range to do anything.

The only change shen needs is to have W move the sword in a range of 700 and boom he'll be amazing without being broken/op.

I had 350k with the old Shen, and I can't even scratch the surface with this one. It's just really unfortunate for me that they would stray so far from the original formula. I agree that his rework had a couple decent theorys on it, problem is it's just not Shen.

Alright, I'll admit one thing that bothers me. I feel like I've seen his Q somewhere before. Mordekaiser Mordekaiser MordekaisermordekaisermordekaiserMORDEKAISERMORDEKAISER ALRIGHT i'LL SAY IT HE LITERALLY HAS MORDEKAISER'S Q.

Essentially summed up Sona's, Cass', Sion's and etc. "rework"s in a nutshell. I applaud your accuracy.

Don't forget my boy Shen, The guy who's identity they promised to keep and totally delivered.

i will say 80% of the old champions' playerbase dislike the rework of certain champions. all the "X mains" who said the rework for x champion is good are all scumbags who are getting freelo by beating unskilled reworked x players.

I personaly dislike fiora and shen rework, i had never played them after their rework.

EmollientNut01 votes

Shen feels like a walking trashbag of a stat check that's nothing but autoattacks to me now. It's just a really shitty feeling knowing you can't play your main anymore. It's also pretty funny that these reworks are supposed to promote "diversity" Yet he has a 78% pick rate top now and he hasn't made a single LCS appearance.

Tohob1 votes

most reworks made the champion significantly better than they were pre-rework. this basically only applies to like... Ryze and Shen

blue champions beware.

EmollientNut01 votes

This is coming from a 350k Mastery old Shen player actually lol. Be careful if your champ has even the slightest hint of blue, Because Riot is coming for you. Anivia Lissandra Malzahar Xerath

lux's outfit is blue

Riot: nothing to see here..it's purple...move along...here's a shield nerf that does nothing to her gameplay

Yeah new Poppy so easy to beat.

EmollientNut01 votes

I've searched high and low for people saying Poppy's fun to fight against, can't seem to find any.

Is it possible you don't read every part of a post before downvoting it?

Actually, some of the reworks (Fiora, Sion, Poppy, Shen) are actually MORE FUN to fight because you have to be more active, and there's some sort of counterplay now. Take Fiora. Old Fiora philosophy was: "Well, I want to play League today, but I don't really want to try to do anything. I still want to win though...I'll play Fiora!" Now, you can outplay her with the Vitals, at the very least. There's more stuff to do against them.

And I personally like more stuff!

EmollientNut01 votes

But how is it fair that a person's old mains are scrapped with limited to no similar mechanics, while they surf through a list of champions that will never feel better to them than their main did?

3TWarrior1 votes

you mean the old fiora that people could burst down instantly, couldn't deflect your own crowd control onto you, wasn't immune to everything in the game for almost a second, had to kill a target to dash again and did what a foil is supposed to do against a wall of tank?

Vicarious1171 votes

So you mean people who mained champions that had little to not counterplay at all removing much of the skill required in order to rank up are now not doing so well since they've been forced to play more champions that actually have forms of counterplay?

Sounds like the tier system is just working itself back out, which is a good thing, what's your point?

EmollientNut01 votes

My point is pretty clearly laid out actually, can you try reading it again? Good counterpoint though, there's no freelo champs in existence now! Ahri Amumu Ezreal Janna Fiora MasterYi Quinn Volibear Kayle Lux

Vicarious1171 votes

I know what your point is, that was rhetorical, which is painfully obvious....

I know you're mainly talking about Shen, cause everyone who ever brings this up is talking about Shen, as well as you mentioning in a comment that you're a Shen player. The thing is, he had almost no counterplay AT ALL, now he does and a lot of people who used to play him don't like how he actually has weaknesses now.

I mean take some of the most popular reworked champs, Sion, Poppy, and Fiora. The only counterplay to them was beat them early so they couldn't stat check you with abilities that denied counterplay, it was awful to play against cause if they ever did get ahead they ahd shit built into their kits for the sole purpose of denying counterplay! Now they have it, and their winrates are faaaaaaaar higher while also having ridiculously higher playrates, even though people still say it's more fun to play against them then they were in the past.

So yeah your post is obviously bitching about Shen not being faceroll anymore, since your point has no merit on any other champ.

EmollientNut01 votes

I'd actually consider agreeing with your point if Pantheon didn't very literally have a much better version of Shen's old Q. You can go ahead and argue that it's mana based therefor sooooooo different like I know you're going to, keep in mind that he still has enough mana to kill you 3 times over with just spears alone at level 3!

I guess you've deduced I have some sinister thoughts about my favorite champ's identity being changed, congratulations. I would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for you meddling kids!

If old Shen was your shining spectacle for champions with no counterplay I really think you need to do some champ list surfing.

Don't worry, I'm sure some day Riot will give you the gift of alienating you from your main champ [slayer-pantheon-popcorn]

Vicarious1171 votes

LOL Did you hope that bringing up the mana on Panth's Q first would dissuade me from mentioning that very important fact?

The reason Shen's was OP as shit was cause it was infinite and gave sustain on all your targets. Yes Panth is very strong right now, not gonna deny that, and his point and click damage is ridiculous, but he's squishy and immobile, you know how to counter that? I hope I don't have to explain....

Old Shen on the other hand could infinitely harass someone, as well as always cs from affar, on top of sustaining up without any effort due to that as well, all while being stupidly tanky. I mean you can try keep arguing that current Panth is more OP then old Shen, but then I'll just have to keep reminding you Riot said they were reworking Shen for the sole reason that he had no true counterplay, yet Panth hasn't changed yet!

Facts are just facts, trying to bring them up first to attempt to make me not want to talk about them doesn't make them any less true.

And you're the one who thinks Janna is freelo, so I honestly don't give a shit if you think your old main was fair, even though the developers of the game said they were changing him for that very reason.

Besides, they gave me reworked Sion, Poppy, and especially Gangplank (a champ I played a ton before the second rework), all 3 of my main champs right now so I honestly don't care at all if they rework any of the other champs I regularly play, I'm not reliant on one champ with no counterplay in order to win, like old Shen mains, so I doubt it'll effect me to much, if at all really.

3TWarrior1 votes

wasn't shen's counterplay that he did no damage at all unless you got within 450 units of him and even then would get beaten to a pulp by duelists or sustain tanks? or pretty much every top there was except for burst damage tanks like chogath?

Vicarious1171 votes

No, because Shen was never in lane to fight, his whole purpose was to not die then TP into fights with his ult and cc multiple people while tanking fuckloads of damage.

And there was no way to stop this, cause any decent Shen could cs from afar indefinitely so they could still get gold, if not just infinitely harass as well to force his opponent out of lane who couldn't keep up with his sustain.

His only weaknesses where the same any tank in the game had, but to an even lesser extent since none of their typical laning weaknesses were shared with Shen.

But yes if you were a bad Shen who kept trying to right top laners built for fighting then it was easy to counter him, but I'm talking from a view where the Shen player knew wtf they were doing, even just somewhat.
