Riots balancing practices...

Right now i honestly do not understand the philosophy and what riots ultimate goals are for champion balance. Lately they have really been dropping the ball in terms of balancing champions.

Vayne has been a problem for a long time and when you finally get around to looking at her you hit her by 3 AD,,, not even the 5 AD for dank memes, but 3 AD... what was even the point? i cant see that nerf even effecting the highest of the high levels...

Meanwhile You CONTINUE to constantly butcher a champion like eve who has actually been very tame for many months now... why? Lets be real here, no one considered eve a huge threat anymore other than the typical whiners who will cry and moan about anything they get rekt by in game. I do not watch worlds often, but from what i have seen so far and for as far as i know she hasnt been picked nor even banned at worlds... so what is the point of nerfing her further?

it is always the same with you guys. you either Overbuff the hell out of a champion or Overnerf the hell out of a champion, and champions that you clearly favor always gets love taps.Vayne LeeSin Zed

the ONLY champion that i personally feel you guys do a near perfect job at balancing is Annie. Whenever this champion gets touched she is both buffed in one area and nerfed in another area. every single time. THIS is w hat it means to balance something! Taking away from one area and giving to another area. nerfing a champion for several straight patches and then reverting ONE of those nerfs and calling it a "buff" is not the way to balance something... Buffing a champion for several straight patches and then reverting that buff is not the way to balance something... Giving love taps to champions that desperately need Nerf is not the way to balance something...

The recent Fiora change is another good example of balance. you took away power from one aspect of an ability but added power to same aspect of the same ability to a point where the ability is both changed and remains the same. Like its so damn good. the maximum duration is unchanged, however at the same time it is no longer overbearing for next to zero effort. Its like swapping a apple and orange from different sides of the same table. the apple and orange is still there, but on opposites sides of each other than they were originally and thus the table looks a little different but also the same. why cant you guys just do this with the majority of champions? i recognize some champions just need a straight nerf or straight buff, but they need that because of your OWN balance practices in both the past and present.

Darius and garen for example need straight nerfs BECAUSE you guys overloaded them way to much instead of simply taking your time with them. Ekko need straight nerfs because you overloaded his kit, and then you buffed him because you went way to hard with the nerf hammer at the time.

why cant you guys just balance a champion in a similar fashion to what you do for annie?

You are want seriously say that removing 3 AD (btw the diffrence between twitch and lucian) is completely irrelevant, but changing a spell costs from free to 40 (!) mana is butchering a champion (a jungler, a runeglaive jungler, a runeglaive jungler with manareg passiv)? I cant take this serious. Really. A 40 mana spell is a free spell for a runeglaive jungler, because if you are nearly oom the runeglaive proc will give you more than 40 mana. So by adding a irrelevant cost to spell a champion gets butchered, but by removing 6% a champions base ad you dont even touch him.

If Evelynn needs to be oom , have runeglaive and be in the jungle just to break even after this nerf... then you have highlighted how bad this nerf actually is.

Or you just stay 3 second longer in stealth to get the same amount of mana. "Vayne could always kill minions at 53 hp, now she can't last hit anymore and is now complete trash tier" that's exactly your way of argumentation

except that eve's base damage, move speed and gold income are very low...by the ends of her first clears, she will be barely able to afford item 3117 , meanwhile the tank junglers will have pushed a lane and taken a tower.

Pantheon, for instance, can take a lane by surprise, stun either the support or carry, take no damage in retaliation and knock more than 50% of someone's hp bar off by himself in the early game with no items but jungler items...and he's almost as low usage as Eve...

dude, what part of "runeglaive mana regen passive only works on monsters" do you not understand? you cant simplye run into the god damn jg IN THE MIDDLE OF A TEAM FIGHT and clear camps whenever you are OOM from said teamfight... runeglaive was an item ONLY MEANT to be effective on monsters, hence its last set of nerfs. this means that while you wont go OOM while clearing camps, YOU WILL GO OOM IN TEAMFIGHTS AND SKIRMISHES! this is where the nerf starts hitting eve players in the face VERY hard.

i dont get why its so hard for people to understand that about eve. simply play the damn champion ONCE and you will understand. ill put it this way, they are nerfing eves PvP based primarily on a item that is only intended to be useful in PvE environments.

the mana regen only works on monsters..... the mana regen only works on monsters..... the mana regen only works on monsters..... the mana regen only works on monsters..... the mana regen only works on monsters..... the mana regen only works on monsters..... the mana regen only works on monsters.....

Wait until you have enough mana? Every mana champion has to look at his mana bar before fighting.

but consider that eve uses over 50% of her mana in her clears, has the lowest damage of all assassins, needs her run speed to even get around and you neglected to notice that 40 mana is 1/5th of eve's base mana...

also, you can't regenerate your mana with runeglaive while ganking because you have to be attacking monsters

meanwhile, 3 AD....3 AD...compare that to the 500-800 health you start with. 50 damage is still 11 hits...early game it's the support that does all the damage until the carry has enough of an item standing to do kill-worthy damage

eve becomes an immobile and clearless champion with no damage...vayne says "who's next?" when the announcer proclaims her victory

Rito's problem is that it's difficult for them to see how many people really play the game.

Champions like Darius were originally very powerful, in lower levels where people couldn't help themselves from fighting him in melee range. Obviously it's easy for pro players to understand that, so Darius is weak in that field. Riot sees that Darius isn't being played much in the higher levels, so they buff him. But the issue wasn't that Darius is too weak: it's that Darius can be engaged on by pro players significantly easier than most players. That's just who Darius is.

Riot wants many champions to be equally picked, and equally win. That's just not a rational goal: some champions, are better. They have more mobility, can affect multiple targets; force the enemy team to go onto cooldowns. Those are things that pro players want to use, but they're things that newer players can't use right. So maybe you justify Darius's greater power, by saying that Lee's "power" is his mobility, so you equalize them that way. Now, no one can beat Darius with Lee unless they're already very proficient with Lee.

It's difficult to know the way many players play games. Riot doesn't understand that champions like Darius were already strong to the majority of players. It's fine to have different champions be more effective at different player skill levels, but you can't have every champion be good at the top level: because you end up equalizing a champions power, to a player's skill; and that skill isn't something everyone innately has.

so, at the end there, you basically say there's no point in getting good at the game because anyone who gets "good" with unpicked champions is going to cause them to get nerfed

Nautilus is a recent example of this. Nautilus was picked in pro play because he is the tanky master of crowd control...well, what happened...they said his damage was too high...he already had the lowest damage of all supports except for Janna, who basically tied him
