I get senna is supposed to be a scaling champ, but why start her with 600 range?

Shes like a lane bully right now because of her range alone.

I feel like she should start at 550 or maybe even 525, so shes more vulnerable early game.

600 is too much for a champ that already has scaling range, for reference tristana starts at 525 and she cant even scale hers nearly as much as senna can, so i think this is the best and most fair starting nerf she could get.

The reason is simple:

Senna, instead of having long range spells, and normal damage for an adc, normal attack speed for an adc, she has an auto attack that puts her competitive with other adcs but lower range than spell casters.

If her range was shorter, she couldn't even support. At all.

"Lower range spells"

I guess global ult and Q that goes over 1k range is "low range" for you.

Lmao.

In lane? As harass? as an income? before stacking?

If I read that correctly from the wiki, then Senna's Q has a range of 1300. She needs a target in range of her AA (so: 600 before stacking) to use the spell, but in lane, in which she has many targets available like enemy and ally minions, as well as the ability to line it up with her ADC or even wards in emergency, I think it is fair to say that her Q is long range and definitely usable as harass.

It's useable but not nearly as reliable as it sounds.

  1. Many adcs/supports have larger effective ranges, that can bypass minions, or prevent her from lining up other skills.
  2. She has no purpose in just harassing with Q. Q has a significant cooldown in lane phase, and by using it purely to harass, you waste its heal potential, and give the other team a signal to all in.
  3. By using Q at max range through attacking a minion, you won't get a Wisp stack from double tapping a target, since you will only hit them once.
  4. It's one of the weakest pokes in the game early game. 50 base damage. Also consumes a lot of mana. It will proc a spellthief if it procs like that, but it's not like the poke was worth anything, unless it healed you + ally in the process, which is harder done than said.

From the little games I had playing as her or against her I'd say sustain shits on her in lane. Like I was playing Nami, her poke wouldn't stick, bubble is easier to land on Senna then any other. But yeah anyway, as long you have sustain and disengage for when she lands the root you're good that's why Nami will be my go to counter for now. And also because of the long range Caitlyn might be a good idea for ADCs to pick into her.
