Isn't a valid excuse for why the team lost or is losing. For every off build that exists, there exists another champion who's deemed "acceptable" that would lose just as badly given the same circumstances, if not worse.

Doubly when it's blind pick.

Yes, riot hates off builds (or champions who can reasonably build multiple ways), inexplicably excluded. Yes, they often have lower average strength compared to their recommended build (see previous statement). No, that doesn't mean the player is bad.
